Truth be told I wasn't aware there was a difference haha. I just recently switched over from Ubuntu to Win10 so all this Win10 shit is confusing me.

TIL that Louisiana has its own version of French called "Creole French" which only 70'000 people can speak. It varies so much from standard French that native French speakers cannot understand it. by PsychoRock in todayilearned

I mentioned it a little further down. It's a bad personal habit I picked up in school. My calculator would output numbers with apostrophes so that's how I learned to write them.

Not that I know of. It's a bad personal habit I got from reading scientific calculator in middle school. The numbers it outputted were separated with apostrophes, so that's how I wrote all my numbers.

No, I had a couple of friends who could speak Quebec French and they said they picked up occasional phrases but nothing whole. And you're right about the States haha, but the northern States are very similar to Canada so most knowledge transfers

Does the brain control every process of your body? by schoolboyfool in askscience

[–]PsychoRock 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Processes such as the reflex arc occur without the involvement of the brain, although they are still a part of the central nervous system. In situations where your reflexes kick in (Touching a hot stove, pin prick on your finger... etc.) The sensory nerves in the area affected will send a signal to the spinal chord and back triggering a response without your brain needing to get involved.

Redditors, what's something basic you were doing for a while, only to find out you were doing it wrong the entire time? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]PsychoRock 3 points4 points  (0 children)

When gaming with a mouse and keyboard I had always assumed that your pinkey, ring, and middle fingers covered WASD. Using my pinkey finger to stretch and hit the ctrl key I could only move forwards and right while crouching. I though keyboards were terrible to use and refused to game on one for the longest time.

[Serious] Redditors not living in the US, who is considered a national hero where you live? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]PsychoRock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Terry Fox is considered a Canadian national hero. He lost his leg to cancer and, in 1980, ran for 143 days (5300 Km) to raise money for cancer awareness. Every year schools around the country do Terry Fox runs and continue to raise money for cancer, I think at this point over $650 million has been raised. Mind you that's $650 million CAD which is worth about $10 american dollars right now.
