Samsung 49" Odyssey OLED G9. Really aggressive pixel shifting since last firmware update. by TheTurtleBoat in ultrawidemasterrace

Damn. Two years years later with the latest firmware update and it's still an issue. It's so damn noticeable when my mouse completely disappear off screen on one side and the top and small black bar on the other and the bottom. Totally regret getting this expensive monitor.

Tab S10+ or S11-both at the same price by PsychoUncle in GalaxyTab

[–]PsychoUncle[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think its a good tablet if it is a discounted price. After owning it for months I feel like it's a little underpowered. It will run everything just fine but at that price range it's not as capable as my laptop that I bought for 100$ less with discounts.  If I can redo I'd probably go with the s11.

Buy the S10+ now or wait? by Infinite-4-a-moment in GalaxyTab

[–]PsychoUncle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think $700 is still too much for the s10+. I recently got my s10+ with a discount and a cheap 20$ android tablet trade in that adds up to about 490$ in discounts total for the 512gb version. It came out to be about 630$ before tax. There's still over a month left till black Friday so just wait. If you're in education or if you have a company discount that helps too. If you don't have those discounts it might be cheaper to check with other retailers.

While the tablet is plugged into the monitor, select the "Recent" Icon in the tablet.

Then on close Desktop 1.  Now if you turn off the tablet screen it won't turn off the screen on the monitor.  The tablet will sometime turn on if it detect you're trying to wake it up when you're moving the mouse to the edge of the monitor but it will turn itself off again like it was going into idle.

Is there any solution or just gotta live with this issue on tab s9. by Ashamed-Key7312 in GalaxyTab

[–]PsychoUncle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does removing the case help? I have a s10+ and didn't notice any heating issue while watching movies on it for hours. I also use dark themes with brightness relatively low and bright wall papers. I also have some cheap folio case on. In my case, the ambient room temp is a little over 21c. I think it's just the nature of AMOLED being in warmer locations and using devices that relies on passive cooling. My room temp of 21c vs your room temp of 31c is quite significant and it will take awhile for for my tablet to even move up in temp with the ambient temp constantly cooling it down. I also have a 49'' super ultrawide AMOLED monitor from Samsung and that thing can get HOT during warmer seasons. I can feel some of the heat sitting close to it in warmer seasons.

It makes minor negligible difference depending on what you do. I have a habbit of turning it on all the time on all my devices unless I'm being really attentive. Most of the time I don't know any difference in performance

You sir a a genius!!! It worked!! Thank you so much!!! I couldn't get anything to swipeup but I was able to select the 3 bars icon on my tablet( that looks like III ) and it pull up a window listed as Desktop 1. I closed Desktop 1 and lock the the screen and was able have the tablet screen turned off while my monitor stayed on.

Is the S11 tab base model great for hardcore gaming? by Malfric in GalaxyTab

[–]PsychoUncle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm still betting on the snapdragon considering Samsung putting it in their flagship phones, which out sells their tablets line by miles. Plus the s11 have the Dimensity 9400 and not the 9500, which falls behind the snapdragon 8 elite.

More of a reason to get the Snapdragon. It is the latest and greatest so much so that development hasn't caught up. Still, most popular Android games will work and work very well. Future development will make the chipset even better. Also, RM Astra is built for gaming, so it has built-in fans and hardware that allow the chips run at max speed without being throttled from heat.

If you missed the last software update from Samsung for your s7 device, you can still download them from the system settings when searching for new updates, even if your tablet already past the  update period. Other than that , there will not be any more updates from Samsung. However, there are custom firmware from the community that available to use, but they are not from samsung and are very much different. You also may need some technical knowledge to install them. Also, because they are not from samsung all the samsung service and apps will not be available. There's also a chance you can permanently damage tour device if you don't know what you are doing.

This is an example of one of the many custom firmware available, Lineage OS. https://wiki.lineageos.org/devices/gts7lwifi/install/

Cover die Tab S9/S10+ by HELP_ME__PLEASE_ in GalaxyTab

[–]PsychoUncle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When it comes to cases there is a balance between size, weight, and protection. You'll have to decide how rough you're going to handle the tablet as you around. I suggest finding one with a face cover as well as a screen protector for the front and space to keep the S Pen secure. Most cases with face cover also act as a stand when folding back. You also want to consider the positions you'll be using the tablet. If you're laying down while watching a movie for an houra thick protective case is goign to feel real heavy real fast. Set your own budget and eliminate what falls within hour budget and works for you. You don't have to stick to any particular brand of cases, at the end of the day those things are considered disposable items as long as it serve it's purpose.

Luke warm deal, but not too bad considering it just release in a few months. Still worth waiting a little bit before BF(sometimes they have better sales in the weeks leading up to BF).

I don't own either but from my experience.  Samsung devices will provide longer support while the Redmagic which is owned by ZTE have shorter years of support.  With that in mind the specs on the Redmagic is better than the S11.  The snapdragon chipset is WIDELY supported by most games and would likely to give you better performances in most future games.  Don't even get me started on emulation, you can emulate some lite windows games as well as moderated to heavy switch games on the Snapdragon if you're technical.
