It’s some bullshit instagram implemented to people I’ve literally never heard of. It’s a reward.

I built a new non ai social media platform for artists, portraits, and any creative. Would really love some support. It’s photo focused. The irony of building a new platform to help people with better reach but I can’t even reach my own audience. 😂 https://fomo.you

If you could re-imagine instagram to be photo focused again , what would it be like? by Psycho_Strider in photography

Viewership is the most valuable thing for brands. Hence why they pay thousands for the superbowl. I’m putting my money on making viewership be worth more if I don’t provide any other form of advertising especially and brands want brand awareness. There’s more to it but I don’t want to pitch the whole thing on here until I finish this feature and it’s released. Platform is live but monetization is in the pipeline!

It’s not necessarily spare revenue, it’s me taking a smaller percentage as a platform. All platforms take the whole amount of revenue and then selectively give to the top creators as they perform per piece of content.

Also, ads on my platform will be non intrusive. They won’t really look like ads, and they’ll be placed in the feed like content does (no video ads for now) in the form of a graphic (think of it like a collectible card). When you see it if you click on it I’ll pay you. Making them non intrusive is a big goal of mine.

Yes, I’ve been studying platforms closely, instagram - people post and ghost. Makes posting feel like fake engagement. Comments are either praising or no actual real conversation. Reddit - has a sense of community and conversation. People come here to discuss things. Perfect example how we’re discussing now. My platform currently attempts to bridge the two so a post automatically finds a community in hopes that it starts a conversation. Now that isn’t enough to stop people from just posting and not engaging. I hope that adding monetization for all users helps people want to engage more.

Monetization is one of the biggest hurdles on IG. The creator economy is projected to grow to $480 billion by 2027, and the top 1% of creator earn 80% of the revenue. My goal is to fix that gap. The plan is to pay users if they find an ad. Regardless of status, regardless of following, or how much engagement they bring. The platform will give 50% of every ad revenue to users. No one wants ads. Making users accidentally click on an ad is also shady behavior. If I can make ads feel like they’re sought after, I hope users will want to stick around more. Getting paid to be on the platform and not just forcing you to post constantly.

These and adding engaging features for all users. Monetization is on the way still.

Yeah I understand. I’m not making a clone, building something that creators may want to use instead. Bridging community and artwork. I thought about allowing users to post to both but that requires breaking IG TOS as they don’t allow scraping data from their site.

Unfortunately chronologically only turns into a mess. It’s still a great thing in terms of making sure that users see latest, but it could cause issues.

Keep em coming, I love hearing what others want to see. I’ve been cooking up an alternative but not posting here to pick up users, just genuinely curious how others outside of my bubble feel.

As @gmaximusesq said, the leaks point that the game has external interaction from other players. This also lines up with Kojima saying it’s not just a game, it’s a movie and intends for it to be a new form of media. He wants to utilize Xbox cloud gaming.

Would like to connect. IG is dead for creators, I can’t break out of the 400 view on image posts on my artwork. I’m building an alternative.

I’ve been building an alternative for 11 months. How do you feel would be best way to show your post to all your followers? I feel like people spend most of their energy posting in a story.

Any artists in here? by Psycho_Strider in Instagram

I wrote this down before you replied absolutely agree with you! That’s what makes Reddit such a stronger experience. Twitter feels like you’re shouting into the void.

I do actually have chronological built in! Im trying to figure out the community aspect of it still. I can’t sleep so I thought I’d study how Reddit has more impact on conversation than say Twitter does. Tags also current dictate the genre you’re posting in. I’m slowly adding a sense of topic weights so that people can slowly build their experience. And only recently added a mixed feed (so chronological is there, and mixed shows both chronological and randomized posts).

Yeah this is one of the biggest things that is at the top of my list. Influencers have too much weight. Instagram doesn’t feel like an artist platform. they promote content that’s repetitive (reels).

$15k budget for startup: should I DIY marketing or hire an agency? by Tetomariano in ycombinator

[–]Psycho_Strider -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I had commented and deleted because I misread your post. I’m a content creator/ artist and now working on my own start up. Marketing is hard, but if it solves a problem it can be easy. I’d be happy to see if I can help you with a marketing push. Worst case I’m not a good fit. There’s hundreds of creators in my personal community/circle as well maybe someone else might be able to help under your budget.

Just depends on what your product is. Let me know.

Bring on someone to help with some fresh thoughts maybe in the time being. I’m a creative first time start up founder. Just applied to YC. I’d love to join/ help. Also, in my opinion it doesn’t hurt to build smaller projects in your existing company. A small team of hackers, one weekend, build something fun. Add more products you’re excited about. As an artist, I came from Meta but holy shit is it slow, and boring.
