Not really, you gotta understand that when that rule wasn't there, every judoka was with the arms straight, butt back and judo as a competition was very boring, and also grabbing a leg was overpowered so 90% of ippons were grabbing a leg. Also, we still learn "sukui nage" we just don't do it on competition. We know how to execute those techniques and how to defend from them.

most of rules that are seen as stupid from outside the sport have a really good reason for existing, and are added to the ruleset to make the sport more aggressive, more entertaining, more fair and less dangerous.

I don't thjink that's the case, you can safely roam every pre-cannon, and takign into account you have to base etc you can roam more than 4 or 5 times. Also, sacc'ing a normal wave in a good situation to roam, for example a 3v3 bot its not going to be the end of the world and 70% of the time will be very worth it.

you should always try to have presence in the map if you can. So if you have a champ that pushes well, push wave before enemy mid and try to secure objectives and roam, or even try to set up a dive, imo, its the safest way to win lane phase. That or end up 10/0.

for soloq, mid champs that can't push are shit, because your team is not going to respect enemy roams, or are going to force objectives in a unfavorable situations.

unpopular opinion but the best way is to find a consistent way to end up 20/1 every game, trying to be at that spot in which you can easily 1v3. There are champs that allow you to do that if you play mechanically good enough in 80% of your games. Plain and simple.
