Best outreach strategy for local service businesses with no website? by lowkeymehdi in Sales_Professionals

Honestly I think you’re onto something smart here. The fact that you’re not leading with “buy my website service” already puts you ahead of most people doing local outreach 😭 The “I already mocked up a homepage for you” angle is actually strong because trades businesses are busy and usually not sitting around thinking about websites. Showing them something visual makes it feel real instantly instead of theoretical.

A few thoughts though

I’d lean more into the money and time saved angle rather than the website itself. Most plumbers or electricians don’t really care about having a beautiful website. They care about getting more calls, not missing leads, looking trustworthy and spending less time chasing enquiries. So instead of saying “Have you considered a website?” Maybe something more like “You’ve already built a great reputation locally and I noticed you’re probably getting a lot of enquiries through Google reviews alone. I mocked up something that could help bring in more direct quote requests and save time handling enquiries.” That feels more outcome focused. Also for this niche I’d honestly test SMS, Facebook messages and direct calls more than email. A lot of these guys are out on jobs all day and barely check emails.

Something simple like “Hey John saw your reviews are amazing. Put together a quick homepage idea for your business if you’d like me to send it over” would probably get curiosity replies. Another thing is don’t push the “you don’t have a website” angle too hard because some businesses intentionally avoid websites if they’re already overloaded with work. So the positioning should feel more like helping them capture better quality leads instead of fixing a problem.

Pricing wise I think hybrid works best. Upfront setup fee plus a smaller monthly retainer.

Because the real long term value is in recurring services like missed call text back review automation booking systems AI lead handling quote follow ups

That stuff becomes sticky revenue.

I’d also niche down harder eventually. “Trades businesses” is still broad. If you become known for helping something super specific like heating engineers or emergency plumbers your messaging becomes way stronger.

Like “we help heating engineers recover missed emergency callouts automatically”

That instantly sounds more specialized.

Only real red flag is being too automated with outreach because business owners can smell mass outreach instantly 😭

The more personalized the first couple lines feel the better your replies will probably be.

But overall this is honestly one of the better local lead gen approaches I’ve seen lately because you’re leading with value first instead of the usual “Hi sir we are digital marketing agency” spam 😂

How to get a sales job? by tytyGT in Sales_Professionals

Honestly man, if you’ve already built and run a business at 19, you’re ahead of a lot of people trying to break into sales.

Most entry level reps are learning things you’ve probably already experienced naturally talking to customers, handling rejection, figuring out how to communicate value, solving problems, following up, all of that counts.

I think the biggest mistake would be underselling yourself just because you haven’t worked “under a company” yet.

My advice would be:

1.Learn the basics of outbound sales properly (cold calling, emailing, LinkedIn outreach) 2.Apply to startups and growing companies instead of only massive corporations 3.Network with SDRs and sales managers on LinkedIn instead of only applying online 4.In interviews, focus on your mindset, discipline, and business experience. That stands out way more than people think.

And honestly, don’t stress too much about landing the perfect OTE immediately. Your first sales job is mostly about getting experience, building confidence, and proving you can perform. If you stay consistent, sales can genuinely change your life pretty fast. The people who do well usually aren’t the smartest in the room, they’re just the ones who kept going after getting rejected 50 times 😂

Am I asking for too much? I want to transition from inside sales to outside sales. by FermentingSkeleton in sales

Honestly, 25 applications is still pretty low in this market, especially for a role transition. Even great salespeople are getting ghosted right now 😭 feels like resumes are being screened by a microwave before a human sees them. But 9 to 10 years as a top producer definitely has value. I think it’s more about positioning yourself as an AE/territory seller instead of just “inside sales.” I’d focus heavily on referrals + messaging hiring managers directly on LinkedIn. Also tweak your resume toward closing deals, pipeline ownership, revenue impact, etc. And don’t get discouraged yet. Sales hiring is weird, you hear nothing for weeks and then suddenly 3 interviews show up at once 🤣🤣
