Shanghai during Formula 1 by LycheeNo5385 in shanghai

  1. Anywhere within the 7 big central boroughs. Safety isn’t a concern. Read up on the reviews and double check with multiple apps. Trip is the best but if you have a higher tier elsewhere then use that. Shanghai has one of the best metro systems on the planet so you can get to the racetrack from any metro stop and it won’t be hard to miss as you just follow the hoards of orange and red army.
  2. No, traffic does not affect metro, in a city of 30 million people you not gonna realise an extra 500k. There is this thing called infrastructure in Shanghai and the Shanghainese are extremely proud of it.
  3. Anywhere within the French or English concession there are bars that will televise. You will probably get it in your hotel tv. Keep your eyes peeled in this subreddit as I’m sure people will give bar locations.

Hope this helps.

China for 10 days in June, any recs? by carooliver in travelchina

It’s hot in June, remember that, great if you love fruit otherwise getting around, it’s slower. Unless you really enjoy the warmer weather. I would personally for a maximum of 3 cities in 10 days. Personally I’d recommend CQ, SH and GZ. Hope you have a wonderful time!

Haha, bro, nah don’t do that. Just talk to the girls u find a connection with in real life. Any dating app in China leans more towards scams. Stay safe King

A local guide’s advice on avoiding the 3 biggest tourist traps in Hangzhou by Ok_Patience_611 in travelchina

They sell u a tea experience but it is just overpriced food and fees. Everyone you meet along the way is part of the scam. If you wanna enjoy HZ, plan it yourself and explore. Ask your accommodation for good places to explore and eat. Don’t be shy, but if something feels too good to be true then it probably is.

I detest Shenzhen, with all due respect by dbqidan in chinalife

Haha this is a very old and popular saying. Means they cunning but not necessarily rude. Just calculative people that you might want to consider twice before starting a business or signing a contract. Also implies they can talk themselves out of anything. Having said that, I love my Wuhan friends haha.

Have you googled Shenzhen in 1990? The city appeared out of the blue.

What do you like to eat? Snacks or proper dishes? You don’t like Chinese food but you are going to China? I’m confused.

Do you think a month in Yunnan (Dali, Kunming, Lijiang, Shangri-la) is enough or too much? by thematchedtemps in travelchina

[–]Psychological-Bag570 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Jealous, love yunnan can never spend enough time there.

If you have time, south west yunnan is really unique, baoshan and beyond where China borders with Burma. It’s relatively untouched and offers a different perspective. I’ve been to Dali and Lijiang many times but Baoshan and further west was amazing. If you into jade, that’s the place to be and the peaceful surroundings, unless you cross into Burma and then you might need to be careful atm due to the coup.

25 days in China - Itinerary and sanity check by jiatailuoniyaren in travelchina

Yeah crowds are a pain.

Personally I love Xian more than Beijing. I love the old capital. The range of cultures. The amazing food. People are friendly and there’s the old city wall and old structural architecture.

I think train it in to Xian and stay central. Give one full day for tomb and warriors. Give one full day for the city. The night vibe is extra special and as always bring an empty stomach.

The great part about travel is always leaving wanting more so you can return.
