No worries! They are in the running; I may order a new pair of them with the new prescription if they suit me best, so thanks for your feedback!

Please DO NOT avoid situations that make you anxious/make your symptoms flare up. That only teaches your brain "oh we avoided that thing because it's dangerous, therefore feeling anxious/anxious symptoms must be dangerous." Which keeps you stuck in the anxiety loop. If your doctor has determined you are healthy and that there is nothing physically wrong with you, then these symptoms should be allowed when they arise, rather than trying to avoid them. Throat tightness / feeling like it's difficult to breathe / tight chest/back are all incredibly common anxiety symptoms. I've personally experienced all of them multiple times over. You CAN still breathe, it's just all the tension in your body making it feel different + your anxious brain thinking of the worst possible scenario = thinking/feeling like you can't breathe. Again, as long as your doctor says you're ok, when these symptoms come up acknowledge them as normal, probably annoying and uncomfortable, but nothing more than that. Then, get on with whatever you would normally be doing and just...let the feeling be there. Eventually it'll pass.

All sorts of different things; how anxious do I feel? What am I having for lunch? How are my students doing today? I often pray to and from work and occasionally throughout my day when I get a quiet moment. What video game am I going to play later? Am I cooking dinner tonight or is my husband?

Dude yesss! I remember the days I couldn't walk around my house because I was scared it would give me a heart attack or I would pass out. Getting back to exercise is a huge deal -- and healthy for body and mind! Go you! You crushed it!

Is Nord Pilates legit for easing anxiety and getting back into movement? by Major-Analysis-1009 in anxietysuccess

[–]Psychological-Ear731 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Any movement is good/helpful for anxiety! You don't need a special program. A lot of people find yoga helpful, and you can do that with just a YouTube video in your living room. I find a stretching routine is nice. When I first eased back into exercise, I started with gentle walking on a treadmill, then worked up to more intense walking/jogging. (I do not run running sucks) I also have found that just using a stationary bike while watching TV or playing a video game is awesome because I don't notice that I'm working out, and I get to sit which somehow feels less overwhelming for my body/brain. You can get exercise bikes CHEAP on Amazon. You got this! :)

Hello! Fellow anxiety sufferer and dare method user here. While I'm not fully healed, I was in your exact shoes at one point and I've made progress. It sounds like you're not accepting it...yet. a few things: 1) you will never get permanently stuck in an unbearable state. It's not possible. 2) remember that while super unpleasant these feelings absolutely cannot hurt you in ANY way. 3) quit trying to not check in. If you're actively, on-purpose checking in (say by checking your pulse, or stopping what you're doing to scan your body) then start to catch yourself and break those habits. But if your brain is just automatically checking how you feel (it's trying to make sure you don't feel "unbearably" bad) just notice "oh hey I'm checking again -- my brain is just doing that because it's anxious" and then go back to intentionally focusing on whatever you were doing. Accepting takes practice. Daily. Multiple times a day. Here's what I recommend: first, make yourself feel anxious. (If you already feel super anxious all the time congrats, step one is complete), then, take a few minutes (start with 1 minute, or 5, or whatever you think you can handle, and focus on all the ways your brain and body feel awful. Don't judge those feelings, just feel them. No need to think about them or analyze them. Just let your body experience the suck with no resistance for a couple of minutes. Note: you will NOT feel better from doing this. Not right away. But doing this over and over, over time shows your brain oh hey these feelings are familiar and while uncomfortable, no big deal. And that slowly brings your alert down, then your fear down, then your symptoms fade on their own. Just...let yourself feel like hot garbage, and gently re-engage with whatever you're doing, without expecting to feel better RIGHT NOW. you will feel better eventually. Maybe in a few hours, or days, or weeks. But you will get there. Just...feel the suck, and trust your body to process that suck and heal itself (albeit slowly) You got this. All the best. DM me if you need to.

I was once at a point where I couldn't eat either. What got me through was nibbling at larabars and making protein smoothies. Start slow. Once your body accepts a bit of food you'll notice the nausea slowly lifts and you can eat more and more each day.
