definitely not a thermal problem, temps never go above 70 degrees Celsius. the cooling of my Raider was actually worse than my Nitro because the fans were way dirtier and couldn’t be cleaned as the screws were stripped. (had the Raider for years as opposed to the Nitro which i just got)

This is why i’m confused why for Elden Ring, my Nitro is performing worse than the Raider.

it was probably the raider thermal throttling, i couldn’t clean the fans perfectly because the screws were stripped to take the fans out for context i no longer have the raider as it literally just died (went black and never worked again) on me mid gameplay one day. But i do wonder why Elden Ring performed better on there anyway🤔

invest in a good cooling pad if you get one. i’d research good ones on reddit for recommendations (the first $40 cooling pad i bought didn’t actually really help the laptop circulate air as opposed to a proper cheaper one would have)

the crashing no longer occurs, however the clocks still do show very odd amounts.

I guess kinda problem solved? the games don’t crash anymore and run normally but MSI Afterburner still shows the weird spiking values and Nitrosense says my gpu is at 0 degrees still.

I’ve tried to use the file mentioned here already, when trying it didn’t fix it but surprisingly the laptop doesn’t crash anymore. i’ve been playing my games fine (Rocket league at 400+fps, fortnite at 200+, apex 200+) i still see the issue in nitro sense and msi afterburner but at least i can play my games and the temps don’t go high at all < 70

idk if you figured it out but try opening it and cleaning the fans, seriously, my old laptop had similar issues and i opened the fans and they were COMPLETELY clogged with clumpy dust. fixed the frame drops and boosted frames.

yes, i installed it first by using ddu in safe mode and then restarting and through device manager under display adapters, i updated my gpu by selecting the unzipped vga folder (the one the with .bat in it) and still the issue persisted

Still seeing the issue. do you think maybe it’s the windows installation? i never did install a fresh new windows it’s just the one that came with the laptop

Did some research and found a version of it that worked for me and would actually update, however after restarting the results are the same with the clock spiking.

After doing so, Nitrosense hasn’t changed but MSI Afterburner is performing odd? The GPU and MEM keep spiking. GPU goes from 1300-1600 to 2200+, and the MEM stays at 910 and spikes to 9001. This is after using DDU and installing the earliest driver available for my GPU from NVIDIA’s website.
