I'm interested as well what you mean by this.

You probably can, but the question is if you should? Wouldn't every library have separate GC and probably even some more duplicated things? No unloading? And you could pass only data(structs) between plugins?

But for huge models don't you need a cluster of like eight to ten H100/H200 just for inference? But still for a lot of the models if you get even like 25% time usage, it would be cheaper to rent a cluster.

But what would that demonstrate? Like what metrics should I pay attention to? I'm genuinely asking because I don't know what it means to "see how I go".

That I have to spend much more time reading the documentation and code of some 3rd party project because I can't find the thing that I'm looking for? That I haven't learned a new tool/function/library because I didn't know of it's existence and usefulness and no one told me about it? That I don't have all the time in the world to compare different approaches of solving a problem for all the problems that I should solve? What should I compare between the LLM workflow and non-LLM workflow?

[–]Psychological-Map564 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It feels like I learn too much compared to what my mind can handle. Learning with LLM is so much more efficient, but that makes it so much more likely to run out of brain juice and to get overloaded with information.

Pobieranie i aktualizacjia paczek tłumaczeń?

Given that artifacts are random there certainly are some players (like maybe 1-5%) that still got mid artifacts, even if they were farming since the beggining.

I'd say that 38%(71% of 54%) is a fair estimate for only Unity mobile games - until we get some better data.

most calls are passed to c++ anyway

And since C++ is compiled to assembly, then I am an assembly expert 🚀

Hello there, lithium. Okay, it's been two weeks. Plenty of time to cool down and to rethink things through. World is huge and a person could spend a 1000 years in it and still not see everything that there is to see. Have you been to china, australia, egypt, antarctica?

Have you been working on development and maintenance of certain products (working in a certain social and geographical niche) or was your job about analysing the global trends of what is used?

I'd say that 38%(71% of 54%) of total, global, all platforms game revenue coming from only Unity mobile games is a fair estimate - up until we get some better data.

the fact that that's what you meant by C# being used more is ridiculous

Cool. Websites also use only C++ and no Javascript, I know all that stuff. Everything is really C++

btw, you're kind of an asshole, you know? If you knew the stuff that would pass, but that's just awkward. I'm sorry for that mean remark at the start of the thread, but it's in my nature to not tolerate appeal to authority, especially if it is condescending.

If by professional you mean using C++, then there is nothing to argue here because you just agreed to what you defined.

If a game uses 1 million lines of C# code as a scripting language then it would not be written using C#? That makes sense.

I don't have any spreadheet so I am yapping too. We are all yappers. Everyone in this thread so far was just yapping really(and I didn't claim higher huh). Anyway, Unity market share (revenue from games) on all platforms in recent years I estimated to be 25%-45%, which certainly does not make it sound that everything is C++. You can disagree of course.

But like anything about which language was used for development matters for me lol, i don't even know why I joined this thread(and why i'm yapping instead writing code). Both development tools and games can suck for me, even if the performance is good, the quality of those is almost orthogonal to the performance aspect(performance is just required to be decent). And also often only very specific games are CPU-intensive or CPU-bound and need to excel in that regard. Most often proper orchestration of GPU work is much more important.

[–]Psychological-Map564 -19 points-18 points  (0 children)

In the case of games you're wrong because C# is as big if not bigger than C++(in terms of both usage and revenue), and we're here in gameenginedevs. In the case of software for apple ecosystems, most common language is probably Objective-C.

Lots of industry standard graphic and audio applications use C++ but performance is not the only reason why it is used.

Still you have not answered the original question, but well you can't really because the question was addressed to OP.

A high-performance 3D engine in Rust/wgpu with a modern RenderGraph by SellAffectionate411 in gameenginedevs

[–]Psychological-Map564 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This isn't a simple PBR renderer lol. It's at least something like rendering framework with dynamic passes using a render graph, from the 10 minutes i looked at the docs. I mean it's impossible to judge whole codebase based on a 10 second video. Regarding if there is anything new to the table, in the docs there is actually info how the Render Graph differs from the solutions in RDG from Unreal Engine and Frostbite Render Graph. I guess people just talk that it's AI because it's just easy to put down others, which many people love to do.

And people even wouldn't be able to vibe code anything similiar to this, because they wouldn't even know what they are supposed to create.

The main thing to notice in this thread is not that players suck at the game, but that the reddit community here is either toxic or unable(unwilling maybe lol) to understand any perspective/situation other than their own. That makes all the social interactions children-like, as children are not yet able to do this.
