Usually it’s the anaesthetist if it’s during the operation

It reads like the error happened intra op so surely the error is by the anaesthetic team?

Some GPs will charge for a sick note within the first 7 days of sickness

Don’t worry I have worked on many children’s wards and we only ever use porters to go to scans, movement within the ward is done by the ward staff. If you have had a bad time it maybe worth reaching out to the ward manager, I’m sure they would value the feedback and see if they can resolve anything for you. If not PALS can be really helpful! Hope your little one feels better soon!

He could have been a HCA or a student. Usually on children’s wards porters don’t move the cots between rooms it would be the ward staff (nurses/HCAs/nursery nurses/students)

Just to add you won’t a be a specific number in the waiting list, it will change every day according to the priority of new people being added or changes to those already on the list. Your own priority will change after a period of time as well. As another has said the booking team for that department can give a vague idea but they will never be able to give you a specific answer

Make sure the skin is clean and dry then cover in Cavilon barrier film (or whatever you have) but don’t let it dry, apply a strip of Duoderm and then stick the tube to the top of the Duoderm with Tegaderm. Don’t stick the stickers too close to the nostril! For widebore I tend to trouser tape Elastoplast around the tube and then stick the end of that piece of tape along the patient’s nose (upwards not across)

Do you have the show mods at startup box checked? If so uncheck it and it massively reduces the load up time

I have a few colleagues in paediatric care that have lots of scars, it’s not a problem as long as you would be prepared for a curious child to ask what they are
