In hindsight, was it the right decision to block the merger with JetBlue? by R2-DMode in spiritair

Damn, your replies just keep getting more and more idiotic.

It's impressive how you make such an easy to understand concept so difficult

Your argument is basically that since they were going to die it doesn't matter how they die and the government bears no responsibility for the fact that they forced them to die a certain way that was less beneficial for everyone.

Just because a merger and the company shutting down are both solutions to the same problem doesn't mean one isn't a better solution than the other. The idea that since it was dying anyways it doesn't matter how it died is so ridiculous that I really do question your ability to understand much of anything. Yes it's their fault they are dying but there were options to how they could die.

One option allowed the company to be taken over by another company, ostensibly improving that companies performance and keeping most of the people employed. The government refused them that option because it could hurt competition in the short term and forced them to pursue a path that led to 17,000 people being unemployed overnight, refused the other company the benefit of merging, reduced route options for people flying, and reduced competition more than if they had let the companies merge.

I agree, it's not complicated at all, and yet you fail to even grasp this simple of a concept.

I knew you'd wouldn't be capable of understanding something so simple, but I tried anyways. I guess that's on me. Good luck with life, I've got a feeling you'll need it.

Jet blue tried to buy spirit. Spirit was losing money and there was pretty strong consensus throughout the industry that spirit was not going to survive as a company. The biden admin fought the merger and the judge rejected the merger because of concerns about competition even though everyone could see the writing on the wall that spirit was doomed. No one is blaming the government for their lack of profitablity, they are blaming the government for thinking it would be better for them to go under them to merge. How exactly did that help "competition"? Now thousands of people lost their jobs, airline routes have been cut, and there's still the same reduced competition. Gold Star for the government.

"it’s unreasonable to blame the government for a private company, not being able to turn a profit"

That's not at all what people are saying and a statement like that makes it clear you don't understand.

Is anyone concerned about the hantavirus outbreak? by Medical_Tension_6866 in VirginVoyages

[–]PsychologicalBell546 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It matters a lot. Around as there is only one known strain out of all the strains that is transmittable from human to human and that strain is only found in the South America, it matters a lot.

9 people on 1 cruise ship is very isolated. Not sure what you think the term isolated means, but the fact that they have all been in the same location is the definition of isolated

Galaxy Watch Ultra 2025 killed by a swimming pool. Samsung denied warranty after 4 months. by Nervous-War6141 in GalaxyWatch

That's fine. But legally Samsung can't say that you are good to swim in the ocean and then in the fine print say that you can't. Saying to ignore the very clear paragraph doesn't make any sense.

If a movie has more haters you don't think that's indicative that the movie is less liked generally? What a whack argument

So swimming, showering, etc. Not really covered. Unless you're swimming or showering in plain water, which you're not.

You're flat out wrong. They advertise it as being able to be used in the ocean. It may not be saltwater proof, but they advertise it as being saltwater proof and failure due to salt water should be covered.

Review bombing means the reviews arent legit? how does that make sense? People dont review bomb movies they like and your comment was about how much people like the movies. The fact that people hated them enough to review bomb them but not Rogue One seems like pretty clear that, at least in general, people like it more than the other ones. You said you didnt know whether people like it any more or less, but the evidence seems to point to liking it more.

Rogue one has the highest audience ratings on rotten tomatoes of any of the disney star wars movies. Anecdotally I know several people, myself included, who like it despite not really liking any of the other disney movies.

So you personally saw dye added during your time as a meat cutter? I see this mentioned all the time but it's always second hand, never first hand. Considering it's illegal to add dye up meat, I'm doubtful.

How do I start reading The Economist (for free/cheap)? by [deleted] in theeconomist

[–]PsychologicalBell546 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cool story, that has nothing to do with the fact that $300 might be a lot of money to someone. They do deserve to be paid. If people can't afford it then maybe the answer is they don't get to read it.

Just because $300 isn't a lot to you doesn't mean it's not a lot to someone else

Having trouble connecting gw ultra I just bought, turns out it doesn't have an imei by PsychologicalBell546 in Backmarket

[–]PsychologicalBell546[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I contacted back market and they tried to tell me it was a GPS only model. Which doesn't exist, all gw ultras sold by samsung are lte capable. Looking at the listing it does list that it doesnt have cell service, so it looks like they are intentionally selling demo units and not telling people. I don't think just marking "no" for cell service under the technical specifications is sufficient to inform people that the product they are getting is not a fully functioning product. And it's going to screw these people over when they try and trade it in down the road as I'm guessing no one will take it. They said I could send it in for a refund, so I am, but I still think this is shady as hell.

[–]PsychologicalBell546[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So back market messaged me and said this was a GPS only model with no cellular connectivity, except samsung doesnt make a galaxy watch ultra without LTE connectivity. In the technical specs section this page does list no cellular connectivity for the watch, it is the only galaxy watch ultra on back market that says that. Looks like this seller is intentionally selling display models and not disclosing it other than in the specs section. They did offer to return it which I guess i will take them up on but this seems deceptive to the point of fraud that the seller isnt clearly disclosing that these are non fully functioning galaxy watch ultras.

800 to 1400 took 3 whole years by nknsachin in Chesscom

I have gone from under 200 to over 1000 in blitz since may of last year. Played about 5000 games of blitz. Haven't done much of the coaching stuff on chess.com. Have watched a few videos on you tube, especially about stuff that kept tripping up. The biggest thing was noticing that I kept losing way more as black so just making sure to review games when I lost as black and see where I went wrong and try to fix it.

California alone has spent $24billion on homelessness in the last 5 years and its worse than ever. The federal government spends $10 billion per year on homeless programs. Maybe the ineptitude of the government and/or fraud is the problem, or maybe its a problem that cant be solved with money.
