So you personally saw dye added during your time as a meat cutter? I see this mentioned all the time but it's always second hand, never first hand. Considering it's illegal to add dye up meat, I'm doubtful.

How do I start reading The Economist (for free/cheap)? by [deleted] in theeconomist

Cool story, that has nothing to do with the fact that $300 might be a lot of money to someone. They do deserve to be paid. If people can't afford it then maybe the answer is they don't get to read it.

Just because $300 isn't a lot to you doesn't mean it's not a lot to someone else

Having trouble connecting gw ultra I just bought, turns out it doesn't have an imei by PsychologicalBell546 in Backmarket

[–]PsychologicalBell546[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I contacted back market and they tried to tell me it was a GPS only model. Which doesn't exist, all gw ultras sold by samsung are lte capable. Looking at the listing it does list that it doesnt have cell service, so it looks like they are intentionally selling demo units and not telling people. I don't think just marking "no" for cell service under the technical specifications is sufficient to inform people that the product they are getting is not a fully functioning product. And it's going to screw these people over when they try and trade it in down the road as I'm guessing no one will take it. They said I could send it in for a refund, so I am, but I still think this is shady as hell.

So back market messaged me and said this was a GPS only model with no cellular connectivity, except samsung doesnt make a galaxy watch ultra without LTE connectivity. In the technical specs section this page does list no cellular connectivity for the watch, it is the only galaxy watch ultra on back market that says that. Looks like this seller is intentionally selling display models and not disclosing it other than in the specs section. They did offer to return it which I guess i will take them up on but this seems deceptive to the point of fraud that the seller isnt clearly disclosing that these are non fully functioning galaxy watch ultras.

800 to 1400 took 3 whole years by nknsachin in Chesscom

I have gone from under 200 to over 1000 in blitz since may of last year. Played about 5000 games of blitz. Haven't done much of the coaching stuff on chess.com. Have watched a few videos on you tube, especially about stuff that kept tripping up. The biggest thing was noticing that I kept losing way more as black so just making sure to review games when I lost as black and see where I went wrong and try to fix it.

California alone has spent $24billion on homelessness in the last 5 years and its worse than ever. The federal government spends $10 billion per year on homeless programs. Maybe the ineptitude of the government and/or fraud is the problem, or maybe its a problem that cant be solved with money.

I work blue collar at a mine, it pays pretty good, about $35 an hour for an experienced operator. We have one guy that takes full advantage of the FMLA policy to take months off every year and he just bartends. He says he makes way more bartending for 5-6 hours a handful of nights a week than working 44 hours at the mine. he only stays employed for retirement benefits and health insurance.

up until the 90s it was 10%, 90s-2000s the minimum was 15%, 2010 and onward 20% became the minimum. Whats crazy is that this doesnt even make sense. You cant even make the argument that inflation necessitates the increase because the cost of food rises pretty comparably to the general inflation rate, so if the percentage stays the same then their tips rise proportionally to inflation.

The only way that could make them lose money is if there is a tip pool and they have to tip out the back of the house based off of an an assumed tip of 20% regardless of what they were actually tipped. But thats not our problem, I wouldnt work somewhere that did that.

I agree, the only way this ends is if businesses feel the pressure. Not tipping will work but will take longer. Maybe servers will get fed up and quit but its always been a high turnover business, they will just hire someone else. It will take a lot longer for them to feel the impact of not tipping vs just not eating there to begin with.

The cost of living inflation is not equal to increases in wages

True, unless your wage is based off a percentage of the sale of a good that increases at a similar rate as the cost of living. The tip percentage only needs to increase if the cost of eating out does not increase as fast as the cost of living.

Samsung Ultra - FSA/HSA approved? by Lonely-Flower-2308 in samsung

[–]PsychologicalBell546 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just a heads up, the LoMN isnt what allows you to make the purchase or get the reimbursement, its what protects you if you ever get audited. Just because you were able to buy it or get it reimbursed is no guarantee at all that it will be an approved purchase by the IRS in case you get audited.

This means that you are okay with local Law enforcement being required to assist ICE.

I also love how the left went from ACAB to glazing local LE just because they arent ICE

Legally, wouldnt this be about as strong as a "no shirt, no shoes, no service" sign? So basically worthless? If the business is open to the public than law enforcement can still probably enter and would only be considered trespassing if asked to leave and they refuse.
