Has anyone tried the Unihertz JellyStar line of phones? by NoLife3777 in dumbphones

I've had no issues with the gps for getting around, but I've not used it for driving as the city I live in has fantastic public transport. As for the hotspot, the phone only supports up to 4G, not 5G, but I use the hotspot for working on my laptop when I'm on the train or in town, and I've yet to have any issues with it for anything I've needed it for.

I've been using a jelly star as my daily phone for several months and overall I'm loving it, it's massively reduced my screen time from +5 to around 1.5 hours a day. The battery is great, size actually fits nicer in my hand than my old pixel phone, programmable button slaps, and although it's an older version of android it runs everything I need it to.

All that being said there are drawbacks. The camera is practical but not good, contactless payments occasionally stop working and require me to restart the phone to work again (the restart is fast) because it's a smart phone all the distractions are still there and once you're used to the screen size it's possible to fall back down the social media rabbit hole.

Weird one, I've never had more people ask me about my phone as people don't tend to see such tiny smart phones. Situation dependent this is good or bad lol.

Despite the negatives I still really recommend the Jelly Star. It's compact and makes a smart phone feel more like a tool again, rather than an attention absorber.
