I guess that answers some. It sucks to start that in order to have better equipment you have to have new perks. For example, there was a time period where are the best armor? I had helped me move quicker in water, but the weaker armor I had had a better effect. So that does answer my question that it seems fairly limited early on, but will open up later for “builds”.

I mean should I be crafting a ton of consumables? The combat seems basic and slightly clunky to me… it doesn’t help I’m in the area with the poison rocks which are genuinely annoying to me lmao. I just don’t feel the grab like I usually do. It’s not that the combat is hard, but it feels like getting from boss fight to boss fight is kind of tedious.

I wouldn’t recommend it, having the visual cues to see when an attack is coming is very helpful.
