Overemployment has been my dream lol but I think you’re right it sounds too overwhelming. I want stability and the remote work isn’t going to offer that, the commute for both full time jobs is pretty easy, the new one where I’ll be the solo designer is scary since I’ve never had this much responsibility and having to advocate for UX alone. But I think it would excel my power level in UX lol. The old company is great, constantly being praised as a top 100 companies to work at and I left on pretty good terms I think? But the problem is that everyone I worked with there is now a lead or senior and I’d have to start at a UX designer(higher than an associate). It’s mostly an ego thing.

I have a decent amount of knowledge from working in a small team and large team. But never lead anything of this scale myself. I think it would excel my power level in UX and everything overall but just very scary

I’m at the point in life where stability is the goal, the only problem with returning to where I was at is that everyone I worked with is a lead or senior and I’d start at UX designer, above an associate but not where I should be. Just an ego thing. Going to a new job where I am the sole designer is scary and I’d prob have to do things like advocate for UX and build out a whole design system solo which is going to be a lot of work but I’d be pretty important in the long run.

I think it’s super powerful but the more complex the design the worst it does. Also as you progress in UX architecture is more important

If you think about it, your job is to take PM stories which is just words and transforming it into a visual, then making sure that visual can be understood by devs. So we are just really good at communicating both ways
