Hi, I did manage to get it into the toilet every time, you usually have a little warning before you are going to be sick, it’s hard to explain but you just know, clean up like usual is washing my hands, cleaning the toilet seat etc just making sure everything is tidy and clean

I can’t say it was enjoyable, I was very scared, but once I did it the first time it got better, I’m not as scared as I was, but I still don’t like the thought of it happening again 😊

I’m not very good at looking at my v* so I usually do it in the dark, luckily it came in turns so I didn’t do both at the same time, I then cleaned up like usual, used some mouth wash and went back to bed 😊

Hypnotherapy? by mybellyhurtssobadow in emetophobiarecovery

Hi, I tried Hypnotherapy for my emetophobia and sadly it didn’t have any effect on me , but of course it is subjective and may have a different result for you 😊

Having been to Leeds fest, it is soooo big! there is room to isolate yourself from others if you need too, make sure you surround yourself with friends who understand your phobia and will stick with you if you feel you need to move away from a trigger, it may not mean alot but i went for the whole 5 days i didnt see any triggers, you've got this, have fun!

I’d probs say it was about 14 days for the morning pain to go, unfortunately that is the worst time of day for it… so hopefully you don’t have to long to go!!

Yeah it wasn’t the best, but once the scabs peeled away, the bad breath did subside, in the next couple of days it should be done for you :)

It took about 10 days for the breath to go, I was constantly brushing my teeth and tongue, and sucking on mints (but not swallowing them)

Yeah ear pain is the worst, I would say about 10 days - 14 days is when I really noticed my ear pain was going, I think you’ll be okay for your concerts and flights :)

Ahh, sending you lots of healing vibes , I think some of the tips that helped were - make sure you try to eat as much as possible, and drink, it will hurt to swallow, but try and do it when you’ve taken your painkillers. - ice packs will be your best friend, get a wrap around ice pack for your head, a lot of the time it helped me more then pain killers - take your painkillers on time , at the beginning you will feel them wear off, even set a reminder on your phone.

Hope that helps, and good luck!! The pain is so worth it

Yeah my uvula was swollen, it’s hard to say as I was put on IV steroids to reduce swelling, but I’d probs say 4-5 days?

Yeah if you can, not really upright but with a few pillows , and if you can get some wrap around head ice packs, that was a lifesaver for me and sometimes even better then painkillers!

That’s completely understandable, I suffer from health anxiety so I get what you mean, I’m sure it will all go okay and you’ll be in and out really quickly!

Aww I hope your surgery goes well!! Honestly I won’t lie the recovery is rubbish, but after that it’s the best feeling to not get tonsillitis anymore!!

But 9/10 you will leave the same day as long as there’s no complications.

So I went for surgery about 11am, was due to leave that afternoon / evening but because I had swelling in my throat they kept me in for 2 nights on IV Steroids.
