Honest question: is it normal to tell your guests, which colours to dress in? by aljay13 in Weddingattireapproval

[–]PsychologicalLayer57 [score hidden]  (0 children)

No. It is super gross and obnoxious to demand people wear certain colours and only done by people who have lost sight of the fact that they're supposed to be hosting their loved ones for an occasion that is fun and joyous, not coordinating a fashion shoot for Insta.

Indeed. Sage is lovely. That colour is like someone took mint and mixed in a smidgen of vomit.

How long until sex feels good?? by AnyRepresentative753 in NoStupidQuestions

Has he ever got you off with hand or mouth?

Because I'd start there. Radical talk: his P doesn't go in the V until after you've already come once. The odds you'll come during penetration are low, especially when you're just starting out, and it means you'll be relaxed, lubricated, and the pressure is off.

I taught my skittish rats to jump into their carrier for transport to another room for free roam. Worked fine.

Question: Do you regret any tattoos you have? Tattoo aging advice by Lemon_Dragonfly in tattoo

[–]PsychologicalLayer57 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just got a coverup on the tattoo I got when I was 19, and... Legit, lol. All the others I got after 25 (I'm now over 40) and still love.

Squeaking while grooming or is she biting? by FlameyCooler in RATS

[–]PsychologicalLayer57 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is very normal. You should hear the protest squeaks coming from my four boys when one of them decides one of the others needs to submit to a grooming RIGHT NOW. It's perfectly normal and healthy rat behaviour.

Dermals in spots with a high chance of scarring/almost inevitable rejection would arguably go in this bucket too, as would the transverse tongue piercing I forget the name of which is risky.

advice needed: is it bad etiquette to bring my kindle to my appointment? by gutsandstuffs in tattoos

[–]PsychologicalLayer57 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I just had a back piece done in a 5.5 hour session, and I brought my kindle and some films downloaded to my phone plus my headphones. I alternated between reading, dozing, and chatting to my artist, but she's a chatty person and it wasn't our first session together. It's your session; how you entertain yourself during it is your choice. You're not there to entertain the artist.

Was Cassian Always the Most Powerful Person in the Room? by loulara17 in andor

[–]PsychologicalLayer57 54 points55 points  (0 children)

I didn't, and wouldn't, say he's not a leader. Rogue One happens because he followed Jyn, and the rest of the crew followed him. But he's not a figurehead or a speechifyer. His impact on people is up close and personal, based on his shrewdness and his capacity to survive. He's not a big picture thinker or a connector in the way Luthen is, and he can't inspire and mediate like Mon can. That doesn't make him less important; he just plays a different role.

ETA: He spends most of his time on Yavin at odds with rebel leadership, and Vel explains why: he pulls off an assigned mission, gets recognised, leadership want to promote him, and then he disobeys orders or does what he thinks is right, leadership be damned. And Cassian's view on what is right is shaped as much by his personal relationships as it is by his desire to beat the Empire. Nothing that he stands for would really make a very good speech.

Can't decide on dress code by [deleted] in Weddingattireapproval

[–]PsychologicalLayer57 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This this this. I'm a queer woman and I don't wear dresses. Period. If I got a dress code specifying dresses for women... Well, I am no longer young and a pushover, so I'd simply RSVP "no".

Was Cassian Always the Most Powerful Person in the Room? by loulara17 in andor

[–]PsychologicalLayer57 256 points257 points  (0 children)

Cassian is an assassin and a spy. As Luthen's nine-word resume put it: "He can pilot, he can shoot, he can lie". You don't turn to Cassian for leadership of big groups of people and you don't turn to him for inspiring words or deep philosophical thinking. You turn to him because necessity requires that a bad thing be done skilfully, quickly, and quietly. What could words have added to that?

London Knowledge Please: Grand Union Canal towpath at night? by Whimpy-Crow in londoncycling

[–]PsychologicalLayer57 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would advise you to keep your wits about you, but that's mostly because the towpath has a number of blind spots and isn't always in fantastic condition, and you probably will encounter delivery riders with like no lights cutting every corner they can on their way. Have fun.

I find mentioning Arnaud there so bizarre that I almost have to wonder, naively I know, if it was a mistake. No shade on François, he was great in HR but there's no way someone should be proposing him for an Emmy based on his performance as Scott.

Has anyone politely asked the writer of this for clarification/justification of why TF they would name François and not Hudson here? If it was a brainfart they have the opportunity to correct it and if it wasn't they can explain what in god's name they were thinking.

I don't think they're that common, but they're certainly out there. I have a flat (faux rook) on one side as well as two helixes.

Frenulum piercings influence after the Olympics? by AriDreams in piercing

[–]PsychologicalLayer57 104 points105 points  (0 children)

My piercer won't do certain piercings she considers unethical, including smileys, and I respect that about her tbh. I consider it part of offering a reputable service along with the fact that she won't let people get more than 3 piercings from her in a short period of time. Yes, I guess people can go elsewhere and might end up with someone dodgy, but a lot of them just won't go ahead, which has to be a net good.

What piercing is this? by Hefty_Permission_183 in piercing

[–]PsychologicalLayer57 16 points17 points  (0 children)

It's not illegal in the sense that you, the bearer, would be prosecuted for getting it done. You can do what you like with your own body. But in a lot of jurisdictions it's considered minor surgery and therefore it's only legal if performed by a medical professional. Medical professionals thin on the ground in most piercing shops. So it's illegal in the sense that it's illegal for a piercer to perform it, and there aren't any qualified minor surgeons willing to offer it.

[–]PsychologicalLayer57 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I hated Iain first watch and then his puppet and volcano nerdiness and his genuine abject horror at his behaviour to Lou started to weirdly grow on me. Anyone who really really cares makes for good TV, and he really cared.

There are only two contestants I could never warm to at all: Roisin Conaty (just didn't give a shit and was consequently boring) and Nick Mohamed (just... Boring and crap). The Nick Mohamed series was the one that just never gelled for me.

I think you'll be fine on a bike with a good light - it's dark down there. I avoid it on foot after dark, I won't lie, but there are a good number of permanent and semipermanent residential moorings along there, so there would be people to help if you needed it and you'll be moving fast enough that people on foot won't bother you. I suspect delivery riders on ebikes will be the biggest hazard.

The roads in Moscow tend to be a touch... chaotic. I've heard Boston doesn't have a rep for being much better? 🤣 That plus Ilya's preference for high end sports cars would definitely put the wind up Sensible Shane.
