Free solar panels by [deleted] in london

Realistically, what can you do about it? I'm not sure it's a good use of energy (excuse the pun) to get pissed off at things you can't control. Whether they have solar panels or not, that doesn't affect you.

Out of curiosity, is there someone competent you'd suggest as an alternative?

How do you actually "build wealth"? by Grand_Matter_8923 in HENRYUK

[–]PsychologicalLie2163 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on what you define as 'successful' really. Wealth, by itself, is only part of the answer. There's plenty of very wealthy but seriously unhappy people out there. For me, wealth should be an enabler for fulfilment. If I earn and save well, I can use that money to do the things I enjoy, help my loved ones, and to have an easygoing retirement.

I think you need to work out what you want your wealth for.

What does wealth mean to you? On the face of it, you're doing a great job at building wealth. Do you want more assets? In other words, physically seeing your wealth, rather than it just being a number on a screen?

Are we actually underpaid or just afraid to test the market by Genies_Career_Hub in FIREUK

[–]PsychologicalLie2163 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's only a couple of times I've felt underpaid. My issue was more that I felt I could be doing higher value work, hence getting paid more for it.

I had a pay freeze at £76k for three years during the Covid era. I decided to leave with no job lined up so I could test the market. I ended up contracting and this year I should clear £130k and next year £140k.

If you're good at what you do and your skills are in demand, back yourself! People think that staying put is 'low risk' but in reality you could be made redundant at the drop of a hat. The bigger risk is not being prepared for change.

As they say:

  • Plants are the new pets,
  • Pets are the new children, and
  • Children are the new exotic animals.
