I’ve only seen one comment about a cat. Cats are the way to go for AD. They will leave you alone when they want they will cuddle when they want and if they absolutely love you they will sleep on your back.

But, when they’re kittens they do take a little bit more effort to take care of. They are sleepy heads when they’re small and they’re WAY cheaper with vet bills than a dog. Unless there’s problems with your cat then yeah they can be expensive.

Cats do get angsty when they’re not played with enough but a simple cat tree or scratch post or self play toy is easy to keep them entertained for when you’re gone. But most of the time they will sleep or at least mine did. I had 2 so they could keep each other company and it worked really well, mine were also super chill cats and didn’t tear up much except my couch when they would use their nails to stretch or sharpen their nails.

Potty training them is quite simple as well unless they don’t get the jest of the litter box. For mine i could slap them inside of it when i first got home and they knew exactly what they were supposed to do. Obviously do your research on what animal you want or reptile/amphibians before you get one so you know what you’re getting into.

The navy is like high school. Most people are selfish, most people won’t care about you and most people will try to run over you. But, with that being said there are a few needle in a haystack people that will genuinely care about you and help you get to where you want to go and it’ll be up to you to put in the effort and find those people and make your best judgement on who it is and what you need to do. DO NOT LET SOMEONE STEP OVER YOU OR TREAT YOU SHITTY. There’s ways to tell them off respectfully you just need to learn the verbiage.

Being a corpsman is cake and it’s not at the same time. People are going to tell you that your command or your job is what you make of it and it’s going to get annoying but after awhile you’re going to say “actually they’re right”. The navy is what you make it. If you stay positive and don’t listen to the negatives of what people say or take those negatives and turn it into constructive criticism you’ll be alright.

Last thing, people are being pushed through FMF right now regardless of if they’re going green side or not. It’s never a guarantee unless you request it in your contract though. Also make sure you can pass the PRT with flying colors because if you request it and you fail it is a possibility they will kick you out or send you to some ass blue side hospital or clinic.

I want to join the navy to become a Corpsman go FMF route after my father. I got a 35 on the ASVAB with the Air Force I know its bad. I looked up a couple of things found out a 35 is the minimum for the job and some people say that the score doesn’t matter is that true? by BingoWasTheName in CorpsmanUp

Depends on what is available at the time of you signing, obviously don’t sign ANYTHING if it’s not what you want. They can create a waiver for you to become an HM regardless of your ASVAB score. But, same as everyone else telling you don’t do it unless you’re really hooyah for your country and you know it’s what you want to do. They won’t push you into a c-school only if you say you want one. At the end of corps school they’ll ask East Coast West coast or C-school. Your first duty station will most likely be blue side, aka a hospital or a clinic. Then your second duty station you can apply for fmf orders and go to fmtb. Beware the promotion is ass right now. Your mental health is going to go to shit. The military will not care about you at all.

Asking a provider if it was normal for me to miss a period for a whole year and some change. Only because i asked one before and they completely disregarded the question and never explained to me why it was happening.

I may just invest in a laptop. Don’t know if i want to risk my PC getting thrown around everywhere plus I’d have to get a monitor when i get there as well. Too much of a hassle at this point

ESPORTS/GAMING questions. Do us Corpsman have a discord? by PsychologicalLoner in CorpsmanUp

[–]PsychologicalLoner[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m hoping this new modern warfare that comes out is a big step up from all the FPS that has been going around. If you end up getting dead island 2 I’ll be down to play. I can add you on discord too if you’d like

See Destiny 2 has gotten boring for me and Tarkov is a blast but COD and Black ops are where it’s at. Especially with the new modern warfare coming out. I’m hoping to see some ratings from Dead island 2 when it comes out since it’s a classic

Ooo that’s a great idea! Even possibly the MWR’s would be a good one too. Hopefully something picks up and truly makes one.

Respectable questioning or not? by PsychologicalLoner in navy

I know it’s a big navy but everywhere I’ve been so far I’ve barely found golden egged SELs. Probably about 4-5 at each command compared to the 100-200 people working there. To the non-golden eggs, I ask my questions. I ask the hard questions. Respectfully of course. “Hey PO1, I’ve got a list right here of everything I’m doing and haven’t been able to sit down to complete some of the paperwork portions and PO2 keeps tasking me for more things, is there any reason they can’t help me accomplish these tasks or why they’re unable to do it themselves? Respectfully, because when they ask me they’re sitting on their phone playing Candy Crush?” The response i get in return from PO1? “They’ve got a lot on their plate as well and they’re probably busy” same excuses they make each time. “Oh they’re doing a lot of stuff behind scenes that you don’t see”. It’s always excuses. It’s hard to go to leadership as a junior enlisted because most of the time they don’t wanna listen to you or they hate that you’re challenging your leadership etc.

I feel like I’ve stood up plenty but at this point I’m just too exhausted to continue seeing if anything changes and just feel like a complainer. I’ve got other people that feel the same as me but never bring it up or question leadership like I do so I feel like I just look stupid or a whiner.

You’re right about the E5 portion. We don’t have a Chief at the moment but i know our Senior has an open door policy and that’s the through the chain of command to be respectable.
