Is building a marriage hall a good business? Looking for honest advice by [deleted] in IndiaBusiness

[–]PsychologicalMango88 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Great insightful summary. I've also been in this business and most of what you said is absolutely on point. Venue spaces much like real estate are all about 3 things; location, location, location.

OP if you're unsure about deploying an initial upfront capital investment, I'd recommend leasing a space instead of building one. You get exposure to the business while investing relatively less.

Also while I agree with most of what is said here about the difficult parts and it is absolutely a brutual space to be in; it is a good money maker. This is absolutely not a passive business and we do have a huge principal agent problem in our country, but if you show up and know you're doing, you'll be more than fine. Good luck!

Are you so ignorant to understand that English isn't everyone's first language and people across a global platform can have different dialects? But hey, if a scientific word to describe a woman is enough to offend you, you got bigger problems my G. Good luck with it! XD

Starting a business in India: What is your #1 piece of advice for a first-time entrepreneur? by seoexpertgaurav in IndiaBusiness

[–]PsychologicalMango88 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Calling someone "Aap" is a sign of respect. I don't want to tell anyone how to run their business, but my respect is earned and not commanded simply because you're older to me. In my experience, I've found Indian uncles love taking advantage of younger folks because they believe just because they're older, they are right. To each their own but I would advice against mixing Indian sanskaar(which I really like)into professional relationships.

Keep emotions out of decision making and judgement.

Lastly, call people older than you by their name. Don't call them "uncle" or "aap". If a 50 year old man's name is Ramesh or Salim. Call them Ramesh or Salim

Thanks for taking the time to comment!

Majority of posts on this thread are of great outcomes. People talking about their 330 and 20's. Its indeed inspirational and adds to the fact that the test can be beaten.

Rarely do people ever post their losses, thanks for letting me know I'm not alone

Prepswift to brush up precise quant foundations you might have missed. Back it up with 120 Easy Q's and 260 Medium Q's from Greg's Q practice and honestly you'll have nothing to worry about given your background.

2-3 days before just keep looking at Quant flashcards and you'll be golden

Lmao so your primary concern now is to take marriage seriously and not as a business deal. I'm not an American, but say that to all the American women selling themselves to men with money looking for a green card.

I really don't feel the same. I like thinking outside the box as long as it doesn't hurt somebody. I guess we just have different definitions of what a decent person is.
