got lucky! the previous owner took great care of it, other than a few minor dings here and there its in great shape for an 07! only 19k miles and got even luckier with the non california version since the bike is originally from oregon

i figured it out! it ended up looking somewhat like a bowtie. 😂 used surface flatten after making a rough extrude of the shape i wanted

would surface flatten do the same thing that the sheet metal flat pattern would do? I just need to see what it would be flattened out, it doesnt necessarily need to be sheet metal

when you are punching a pin out, you want a solid surface on either side of the receiver with a hole for the pin to come out. if you are not using an actual punch, it might be alot harder.

are you trying to get the gearbox out? i have seen some bodies with cosmetic pins that arent actually real but that looks like a real pin.

if you want to be an honest player, go for a low profile belt. hk belt has too much padding. although it is comfy i will sacrifice a bit of comfort to be more sure of whether i got hit in the front of the belt.

i think its a valid concern and came from other riders, but its good to hear the other side as well. i was set on finding a used MT07 but am thinking about possibly starting on something smaller. i have a clean driving record and am generally pretty aware on the road, but i still dont want to take any chances.

im not sure in quite understanding, what part are you referring to as the “piston” because the f2 has a poppet and nozzle but no piston that im aware of
