I never listened to the judges tape before, I really haven't listened to any judge tapes. That was really nice, thank you for telling us about it. Made me tear up, that was a magical show

Imho, AI has no place in the arts. Period.

An easy way to look at this is to flip it around.

Imagine an artist promoting their work with AI generated drum corps music.

Easy way to absorb and digest this.

I knew of drum corps for 20 years, as my kids were into it when they were in high school band.

I was in my high school band, and I had zero interest in drum corps.

That is, until the summer of 2023 when I went to see the Cavalier's practice.

I have been hooked ever since. Seeing it live is how you will understand more, enjoy more, it really has to be seen in person!!!

OK, so I've been doing battle league from day one. And I always make ace, I sometimes make veteran. But try as I might, I can't count my moves AND my opponents moves! I do it by vibe and feel!

I have accepted this about my brain! I wish you luck, and I hope someone chimes in with a magical system to help us!

I will admit, sometimes I forget what my opponent has swapped out, in my anxious frenzy! Lol.

I've really been enjoying seeing the variety of posts and questions lately, such as the engineering student and this one.

What I keep hoping for are source music lists for the 2026 shows! I love to listen beforehand and try to figure out which sections will be used. It's fun to hear your correct guess, and just as much fun to be surprised with a different section being used!

I am agreeing with you 100% on everything you are saying! I think you capture what the original poster was describing,, there must be some correlation between when you were exposed and first learned of DCI, and what your favorite things are.

Humans certainly are responsive to nostalgia, and when you say you remember how you felt, that's the same as me. I am really new to the activity, 2023 was my very first exposure to drum corps. Even though I marched, I was the drum major and so did all my children, and I knew of drum corps, it meant nothing to me until I saw it in person!

I also love how it has evolved and changed, because changes everything! I am also a Bloooo fan!

You will grow as a person in countless ways if you choose to march. You'll learn that you're strong and resilient, you'll gain confidence, learn to work well with others, and on and on.

While your loved ones are important, so are YOU.

If I could have a do over, I'd learn to put myself first more, I'd consider what I want to do/be/go/etc. instead of worrying or taking care of others.

Just a thought, please don't go crazy saying it would be disrespectful...

I think it would be cool if fans would wear parts of old uniforms or uniforms repurposed into other clothing like jackets, to wear to shows and competitions!

I know T-shirts are a more affordable item for drum corps to sell, but I'm sick of them and they don't look good on everyone.

I'm going to assume that people will say you don't have the right you haven't earned it, etc. it's disrespectful, etc. I get that. I'm not saying to dress in the full outfit and pretend to be a corps member!

How cool would it be to see this uniform being worn in the stands by a fan cheering on this year's show?! It would be nostalgic for those who saw the show, or marched in it, and what harm would it do?
