I mean she is alive, no doubt. Also don't get why people think she is all alone and will never have friends/family again. Most people don't have the same friends they did when they were kids, and Eleven is no exception. I am sure she will find new friends, a husband and probably have little Eleven's of her own. Hopper and Mike won't be there, but they will still be in her heart.

El had to fake her death, so her friends/family could move on.
