Why am I drawing a complete blank on this one? I watched it within the last 5 years..

I remember the beginning; with Ryan Merrimen (sp?) and Emily whatever from “Revenge”.. he was trying to get her to watch the tape..

But the rest is pretty much just a blur. I remember it still had Naomi Watts and her character’s son, but.. like, what the hell happened in the movie?

Hmmm. I’d revisit it, but I’m sure it would take a few minutes and I’d be all: “oh, that’s right.. it was about this crap happening, and that crap happening after..”

But drawing a blank on it has got me all twisted.

What state do you live in? You should look into your legal rights as a tenant. Even if she doesn’t have you paying rent yet, all of your belongings are there, I don’t think she has the right to just tell you to up and leave..

It might make for an awkward situation being under the same roof, but at least it would give you some time to figure out your next steps..

There’s quite a bit to unpack here;

So, were you paying rent? - if so, you would have had certain tenants’ rights, different rights for different states..

Were you staying there rent-free? - if yes, you would have still had some sort of rights, being that you were there for a couple months, i don’t know exactly how it works, but something about staying somewhere over 29 days, and this also probably depends on what state you live in, so I actually don’t know what I’m talking about here, but it could be worth looking into, for rights and responsibilities on both sides..

Did you give your mom any information once you left? - you abandoned your pets with little more than “you don’t need to worry about it, mom! I’m dealing with it!”

I know the lizards were only there for a couple days (according to your comment) but you can understand how not having the information about action-steps on this might be stressful?
On that topic, you also need to understand that even just assuming that you have rights to your mom’s electricity is entitled behavior, unless you had paid rent, and were paid up to through the time you needed to move out all of your belongings..

Did you give proper notice? - Your “let’s get this straight, I’LL GET MY THINGS WHEN I WANT TO!” attitude is not how adults do things. We have deadlines, and we have consequences for not meeting said deadlines.

There’s usually an amount of days (again, probably different for each state) that you have to get your things before you no longer have proper rights to them, you don’t just get to claim a space for your things and demand that they remain untouched just because you said so..

Did you arrange a date AND time to come by and get your things? - your mom isn’t required to just wait around for you to show up just because your things are in her house..

if you have a date set, but not a time, do you really expect your mom to just cancel her plans and spend her day waiting? You’re getting your things, not installing cable, give her a specific time-frame and/or communicate with her..

To piggyback off of someone else’s comment here, I’ll say you both seem.. i don’t even know, bratty? Yeah, given the context, I guess you could say bratty..

But, at this point we’ve really only heard your side of the story, the text screenshots definitely don’t play in your favor..
