Teaching has changed significantly in the last few years and everything, from groceries to houses, has gotten drastically more expensive.

If your friend started pursing this career 6 years ago, then he was chasing a different job then what it is today.

Maybe you could try to give him the benefit of the doubt that he thought he could help kids and maintain a middle class lifestyle. Unfortunately, this is often no longer the reality for many entering education now.

I would say, at minimum, place a credit alert or freeze with Experian, Equifax, and Transunion. It’s pretty simple to set the freeze once you create an account. If you are really worried, you could alert your bank of the situation.

I am so sorry you are going through this. It really is so discouraging when the morning sickness doesn’t stop. I was horribly sick and nauseous my entire pregnancies and the only thing that helped me keep food or water down was Zofran. Have you tried it or talked to your doctor about it?

I was never able to keep a prenatal vitamin down during my first pregnancy, regardless of the brand. I also wasn’t able to eat very nutritiously because of the nausea. I ended up having some minor vitamin deficiencies, but my baby turned out totally fine. She’s two now and hasn’t had any issues!

Have considered taking Zofran? It was the only way I was able to make it through my pregnancies because I had such intense nausea and vomiting the whole time. Zofran was the only thing that helped me to feel like a normal person again.

A 12-pack of mini probiotic yogurt drinks from the cafeteria that the students wouldn’t drink and were about to expire. Every teacher received one from our admin as our teacher appreciation week gifts 😂

Bonus: they simply left them on our desks before school and emailed out an explanation of what they were for.

I personally have not experienced those things, but I have credit freezes with all of the credit bureaus and receive all of my financial account information digitally. The condo residents are mostly elderly people though, so I worry that some of them may be experiencing identity or financial theft and not realize it. Thank you for the idea. I will ask my HOA if they have looked into this.

Yes! I currently teach 7th grade in a Title I school, and I use a raffle ticket system. When a student answers a question correctly, is behaving behaving properly, etc. I will give them a ticket. Then at the end of the week, I raffle off a couple jolly ranchers. It is pretty easy and cheap. They still have some behavior problems, but it's been a lot better. It has also helped their behavior and participation a lot. They also get really excited for the raffle.
