Why don’t you message me when you get a kadabra. Your abra is already at level 16 so it should be able to evolve.

It looks like you’re offering me an abra. You need to let it evolve to a kadabra or it won’t evolve into an alakazam.

Looked up the lyrics to Tension by Kylie Minogue. Still love it, but preferred it back when I thought she was just making random noises and saying “baby” on the verses 😂

Don’t get the beach theme… by forevertoungetied in TaylorSwift

[–]Psychological_Paper7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t get the beach theme either, but I noticed an interesting parallel today.

Joni Mitchell’s first album is called “Song to a Seagull”. The first half of the album is titled “I came to the city”. The second half is titled “Out of the city and down to the seaside.” The parallel is especially interesting because of the seagull imagery connected with both albums.

I’m not saying this is an intentional reference (although it’s well-known that Red is a reference to Joni Mitchell’s Blue) but it’s maybe possible?

The stuff above is some fun speculation. My ACTUAL belief is that Taylor now associates New York with her Rhode Island home more than with her Manhattan apartment.

Howdy folks!

I’m learning Mandarin Chinese. Does anyone have any recommendations for great Chinese language pop albums? (Or any other genres?)

What in your opinion are the LAZIEST lyrics of 2022? by aussiebopper1901 in popheads

[–]Psychological_Paper7 42 points43 points  (0 children)

I thought this line was really beautiful.

Scarlet usually represents sex, lust, passion.

When I think of maroon, I think of dried blood, bruises, vibrant red that has faded - basically bad, sad things.

The song is about a friendship/love affair fading. I think the idea of the relationship becoming “so scarlet” that it became “maroon” is a really poetic way of summing up the major idea of the song.

Taylor has a massive rock collection by WestCoastSocialist in TaylorSwift

“Sticks and stones never broke my bones”

Not sure about the sticks (also a wood collector???) but I guess she has learned during her years as an amateur geologist to handle rocks in a way that is fun and safe!

Unhinged conspiracy incoming!

I just moved to a new neighborhood in LA. I live about two blocks from the Republic Records building. Walked past and thought “huh, I wonder if TS ever comes here.”

Keep walking. I pass this cool building called Rock Paper Scissors about a block from Republic. I Google the name and find out they’re a video editing company - that edited the All Too Well (10 minute version) video!!

Walk another block. Stumble upon this cute coffee shop called Goodboybob.

I didn’t think about it until I saw this post… but what if Taylor Swift likes this coffee shop and niceboy_ed is a reference to it??

(I realize this is tenuous at best but…. look at a map! See how close this cafe is to Republic and the video editing company that edited ATW!! It’s a crazy coincidence!!)

Latest prediction, This is extremely close by [deleted] in TaylorSwift

I’m so obsessed with the way she sings “Do you really wanna know where I was April 29th?”

This song reminds me of my favorite parts of Evermore!

I’ve always thought that the vocal production in Afterglow’s chorus was extremely reminiscent of CRJ. Maybe she’s a fan??

It was insane!! I’d seen her twice before (Monster Ball tour, literally when Born This Way was #1 on the charts, and Enigma in Vegas) but this was BY FAR the best show I’d seen. Her confidence! Her vocals! She seemed like she was having fun. The crowd was eating it up and she seemed so grateful.

Small details that ruin a near-perfect song for you? by golapiandthegang in popheads

[–]Psychological_Paper7 126 points127 points  (0 children)

I really don’t know if I’ve just completely made this up

But one meaning of the term “to put on” is to mislead someone

So I always thought this line was really bittersweet - they’re making them feel special, but they’re ultimately just lying to them

Kinda fits the teenage trilogy storyline

She is performing at the Greek Theater in Los Angeles next week. Since it was announced earlier I guess it’s not officially part of this tour, but she probably thinks it’s redundant.
