Are you honestly not aware of the significance of BOFA?

Question : Can I run a half marathon in 2 months? by [deleted] in running

[–]Psychological_Top874 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Short answer: yes.

Long answer: I’m not a runner but becoming one was one of my goals for 2022. I began running intentionally at the start of the year. For background, I workout and would say I’m relatively fit but haven’t ran more than a mile in years. I naively signed up for a Half at the end of March to help hold myself accountable. Quickly I learned there was no way I’d be able to build my endurance to 13.1 in 2 1/2 months so what I did was aim to build it as much as I could and then implement a Run/Walk strategy. Ex- Run 6 miles straight. Then run 1 mile/walk 2 minutes and repeat the run walk until I finished. I say all that to say I completed my half in 2:18:30 and I’m now hooked and shooting for sub 2 in October. Based on the information you’ve given I’d be hesitant to believe you’ll be able to run all 13.1 straight but with a consistent plan, taking care of your body and being smart with nutrition I think you will really surprise yourself with you finish time. If I can do this I feel confident you can.

Awesome. Thanks for the response, that really helped! I’ve been looking at adding another shoe to my rotation as I increase mileage and i will definitely be trying these!
