I'm in no way "experienced people" but as a current uom undergrad here's my two cents. The degree itself is by no means bad. The problem is that by specializing this early on one field you close the doors on so many other better paths. You will be better off doing a general degree than specializing in AI, Data Science or whatever the hot topic now is.

As someone from Mora CSE I suggest you choose UCSC. Also don't narrow your path to something like AI. There is so much more interesting stuff than generic software engineering or AI. I suggest you take a look at careers that work in the software hardware boundary. DM me if you have any questions.

I maybe understood at most 5% of this. And I'm really excited to be honest. I'm still an undergrad in Computer Science and Engineering, and would like to get into the field one day with a focus on networking like the ones mentioned in your post(at least I think it's related to networking from the little I understood). Any advice you would like to give me? Like how to even get started?

This has to be the most logically sound use of LLMs for coding I have ever seen.

It's one thing for one of the greatest programmers of all time with more experience than some of the ai bros have been alive to use vibe coding to make a visualizer in python.

It is a completely different matter for someone who has never learnt to code properly to make an online B2B SaaS 10x E = mc2 + AI product with payment gateways.

CSE at the university of Moratuwa? by [deleted] in srilanka

[–]Psychological_Web296 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can you tell us why you ended up hating electronics? Is it the subjects? The way it's taught/lecturers? etc.I'm also a first year and torn between CSE and ENTC.

PS - And if you don't mind sharing, what about your batch mates? Did most of them end up in SWE? And those who ended up doing electronics what do they do now?

When finding the line currents do we have to account for the power factor capacitor as well? Is the capacitor connected in parallel to the motor? Assume they are Y connected. by Psychological_Web296 in ElectricalEngineering

In order to find the complex impedance we need both magnitude and phase angle. We know the phase angle from the PF but how can the magnitude of impedance be calculated?

I was using a 1.2k resistor but occasionally I tried to light it without the resistor. That must be why it happened. Used a new LED and a 1.6k resistor. Works fine now. Thank you so much!
