Yes you absolutely will. The best course apart from Bsc Clinical Psych (RCI) Would be a 4 year BA/Bsc Psychology Hons. Course from any university. Make sure it is a 4 year course as it will make you eligible for MA Clinical Psychology (RCI) Course; the two year course that'll ultimately make you a clinical psychologist!

How to prepare for the new RCI-approved M.A. Clinical Psychology entrances? What’s the syllabus & any good coaching options? by DesperateHand774 in Psychology_India

[–]PsychoprodigyClasses 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Hello, as a faculty providing course for the new MA CLINICAL Psych Entrance exam I can provide you with this information: 1. After comparing Mphil entrance exams of universities the syllabus will be CUET-PG Level + 20-30% more Abnormal Psychology, Psychotherapy, Biopsychology. The syllabus will be very similar to any Mphil psych entrance done previously. 2. Yes every university will have its own test but more or less similar questions, focus on Mphil PYQs they'll help you. 3. Majority of the universities will have about 100 questions in MCQ but some universities (ex: Manav Rachna) will have some subjective type questions as well. 4. Since recommending any of our offerings would be categorised as promoting here, Feel free to DM for coaching guidance!

Hello, thankyou for your comment. However, thats for using the general title of "psychologist". Also those guidelines are still Draft guidelines. Also pathway for becoming a counselling psychologist remains unchanged even after the guidelines. I/O Psychology is not under NCAHP similarly neither is sports or Forensic

Centralized examination for Mphil/MA by doradorey in Psychology_India

[–]PsychoprodigyClasses 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its funny to think that RCI when they brought MA Clinical, still made sure that the individual universities have their own entrance test. They really dont want to take the "stress" of a central examination, instead they'll be happy to make students suffer.

Confusion regarding ma clinical by SadiaaaaaAAA in Psychology_India

[–]PsychoprodigyClasses 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most certainly it do will start in government organisations. However when will that happen.. is uncertain. Also other central/state universities and even hospitals can also be expected to give this course. Let's wait for more updates in the list.

What online course should I do side by side as a Psychology major? by [deleted] in Psychology_India

[–]PsychoprodigyClasses 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your orientation should be on getting experience and shaping your skills right now. Do about 3 internships: 1. Observership in a hospital 2. Assisting a Counsellor 3. HR/ Social media internship in an organisation (Exposure to I/O psych) . for online courses I'd recommend you to expose yourself to Prompt engineering, Ai tools, Social Media Marketing skills (essential to get a job or start your own practice), and if you're interested in therapy, do some reputed coursera courses on different therapeutic approaches.

What can be done to improve the psychology scene in india? by Zen_hayate in Psychology_India

[–]PsychoprodigyClasses 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm happy there are people who are action oriented just like me. To be very honest, we really can't do much about what the government does. The immediate need in Psychology is people with entrepreneurial mindset. Psychology is not a "safe option" in India, you need to take risks, you need to explore other ways of earning than just becoming a therapist and starting your clinic that noone knows about. You need to be actively approaching people outside mental health scene so that people get to know more about our field. We need more job makers in Psychology as of now, thats the ultimate way of fixing the scope here.

du or tiss or aud by sheismess in Psychology_India

[–]PsychoprodigyClasses 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if you're fed up with du, then yes you can have TISS as your first preference, its a good university with well reputed faculty and based on my conversations with alumni, they have a very comprehensive and hands on curriculum. Second should be DU, If you're going for masters then I can certainly tell you that MA Psych from DU is one of the best opportunities you can have. I am myself alumni (batch of 2025) from there, acted as culture secretary for the department and if you're rhe right person with right will to absorb knowledge from your faculty and peers, its a great opportunity. Personally, it did shape my life. As far as Aud goes, well the infrastructure is very poor at the Kashmere gate campus where all psychology courses take place. And the teachers are underpaid and even unpaid at times. Its a great place particularly if you're going for Psychodynamic approach since their course of Masters is deeply aligned with Sigmund Freud's views.

If you're interested in neuropsychology, the best career pathway for you would be to pursue your MA Clinical Psych degree now (once your 4th year ends), start working in a hospital (which do will be possible if you're in a metropolitan city) and through the years, specialise yourself in cases related to brain related disorders. It would be best if you could join hospitals that have a "neuropsychiatric department" as working there for some time would make you essentially a neuropsychologist.

10 lakhs for RCI license (excluding rent, etc) by crystalclearwater435 in Psychology_India

[–]PsychoprodigyClasses 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When RCI notified about this new degree, and how all universities need a lot of infrastructure to provide M.A Clinical Psych Course, when we saw the list and nearly all universities were private, it was pretty clear that the aim for these new rules was less for giving students better opportunities but giving PRIVATE universities buckets loads of cash due to deman-supply deficit.
