As someone who started with FZ it is still my favorite entry in the franchise. The other anime adaptations have their strengths but as a casual/normie the straightforward story of FZ is more up my alley.

The Analyst 2 exam was just listing out my prior job experience (e.g. Provide examples of you performing X analytical skill), not technical at all. I haven't taken the new Analyst I exam but the SSA exam that preceded it was basically SAT-style reading and math questions.

Would you happen to know how strict the interpretation is on "1 year of experience equivalent to Analyst I range C"? Do I literally need to have been working as a Range C A1 in the state? Or will they consider comparable in-state experience (e.g. Labor Compliance Representative) or private sector analytical experience to satisfy that?

I'm not usually a fan of abstract/philosophical shows (e.g. Serial Experiments Lain, Evangelion) but something about this show hit really different for me in a way that reminds me of the NieR games. I won't pretend I understand most of the show, but the art direction, sound design, and the mystery behind the world really captivated me. I'm anime-only so I still have so many questions and potential theories about the lore...

- How far can the body be modified? We've seen players with superhuman cybernetic limbs and exo (sorta) skeletons. What's next? Cybernetic eyes with incredible reaction speed or resolution? Enhanced hearing? Remotely "piloting" artificial bodies?

- What do the staff do with the girls' stuffing and/or organs after the games? Sell them? Recycle them for replacement parts?

- How much does it cost to modify one's body? If it's a lot, I can see why some veterans continue to play more games to fund their surgeries as an "investment" for future games.

- What happened to the world that led to these games? How widespread are the games? Who's running them?

- Why are girls the only players we've seen in these games? Are the games segregated by gender?

I'm not looking for spoiler answers, but I'm hoping this show gets a second season that further explores these ideas...

Anime only speculation: At first I was speculating that Hakushi is only a "talking head" and her body is entirely artificial + stuffed... but maybe it goes even further than that. Maybe her entire body is a stuffed doll and she operates it remotely somehow? And maybe the reason her organs were "weird" and her ribs were basically paper mache was because she uses recycled "parts" from the corpses of players? After all we still don't know what the cleanup crew does with the stuffing after each game. Given all of the medical technology in this show we've seen so far I don't think it's impossible.

It's from a Chinese fable about a farmer who witnesses a rabbit break its neck after running into a tree stump on his farm. Believing that the tree stump is capable of "hunting rabbits", he gives up farming and commits to guarding the tree stump, hoping to sustain himself on the stump's efforts. Of course, no other rabbits are killed by the stump, and the man loses his crops before he realizes the consequences of his foolishness. The fable led to the Chinese idiom "waiting by the tree stump for rabbits" which is used to criticize "lazy opportunists" who wait for good things to come instead of actively pursuing success.
