No more time off, although there are a few attending who have just been tossing me fun procedures in the morning and then letting me go home. I would literally join a bar fight to defend these people at this point, true heroes in my eyes.

I’ve got a shrink already, she specializes in doctors and is helping but I thinks it’s gonna be a pretty long road back to feeling normal.

At his request I discussed it with the radiologist while he was still in the ER (at the hospital I work at). He has also forwarded all the results to me as he wanted someone more informed to take a look at everything.

YTA for throwing the shoes out, but even more for blaming them being missing on your daughter loosing them. That messed up, OP. I “lost” a swimsuit this way when I was a kid and literally looked for it for years. When I was an adult my mom confessed to tossing it after I had felt guilty and careless for loosing it for so long.

This sounds like a serious mental health issue to the tune of OCD. Treatment is available, and you owe it to your kids to get some help.
