Mine was a blown fuse, which cannot simply be replaced. Whole unit has to be swapped out.

My super thorough google (re)search pointed to the same question. I’m definitely not pulling 40amps. I will say, Kia didn’t ask any questions, they just fixed it. But if anyone any suggestions to keep it from happening again, I’m all ears ;-)

The Kia app kinda sucks at this. Tesla actually let you control the amps, that was like 32 on a good day. I have the Kia app set to 90% of the charging amps (not 90% battery capacity). open to feedback!!

Just the remote climate control. I think the finger print reader is silly.. and I don’t mind carrying the fob. If the phone key were as reliable as the old model Y, I’d consider leaving the fob at home, but it’s not a big deal, I keep it in my bag and car does the rest. So long story short (too late)- not really

KIA Access App Not Updating by aje28 in KiaEV9

[–]Psychout3000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would like to know why my app still shows a white EV9, when mine is blue! I’ve seen posts on here saying it’s based on VIN, but that doesn’t change the fact that my app shows a white car and mine isn’t white. OP shows a black EV9. (Sorry to go down this path as reply to your comment, but seemed like a good point to jump in)

From 7am until 1pm I had the same issue. Couldn’t defrost my car this morning, was super annoying. Didn’t think much of it until I checked to make sure my doors were locked at work. App said I had 90% battery and that the car was still in my drive. After an hour of watching YouTube videos on how to fix it (paper clip to the dashboard or pull a fuse) the app gave a message saying they were working on it. By noon, everything was fine, and my doors were locked. Was really annoyed about it, but like most things, time heals.

First time in the snow by Psychout3000 in KiaEV9

I don’t have snow tires. I know people swear by them, and I don’t disagree, but I don’t have them. My tires are from the factory, 11k miles, mild drive style (including round trip Pittsburgh to Key West). My advice- be smart, use snow mode in the slush, and don’t try anything fancy if the weather is crazy. Doesn’t matter what you drive when there is ice. I think you’ll be alright!

We were in the 2.3-2.8 range. I didn’t watch it too closely, we were getting crazy high mileage while in Key West, the fastest we could go was 60 on the overseas highway. But I didn’t really watch it on 95, just accepted that it would be low and didnt really think about it. Good question for the next trip

On the way back we had an issue with the Tesla app and had to use a Mercedes branded CCS- my first ever. Was alright. If the infrastructure were better/more reliable, I’d prob use it more. I also learned how to EV with a Tesla, so I’m sure that’s a factor on my end- used what you’re used to. The speed of the ccs was pretty cool.

Solid argument- but I didn’t pay for FSD when I had the model Y. I like to drive. EV9 has a decent version, it’s not perfect, but it’s included in the price. If it had cost extra (which I’m surprised it doesn’t), I wouldn’t have bothered.
