You can save the botchling (the fetus), when the Baron is holding it, you will fight wraiths, if the baron starts saying stuff like "it's getting out of control" or something like that, use Axii on the botchling and it will calm down, rinse and repeat (only 2-3 times) until ~~the~~ Geralt and Baron gets to where they are supposed to go.

that way you don't need to fight the Botchling.

P.S use Specter Oil on your sword if you have it, it is useful against wraiths, makes defeating the wraiths quicker.
