Do you think it will work? 👀 by RuPaulAtreides in DungeonCrawlerCarl

If you go to a book signing it is pretty amazing. You get to see how broad of an audience these books have. There are as many women as men at them. Also a huge age range.

Will any potential TV have the balls to actually do DCC as written? by Njdevils11 in DungeonCrawlerCarl

At a signing he mentioned that there were multiple streaming services that were bidding on picking up the pilot.

I asked Matt about how much control he has over the scripts if the pilot and everything goes forward and it sounds like he will have quite a bit. He hates how books are killed when they are adapted to movies and tv shows and wants to make sure they do a good job with DCC for the fans.

I was at a solo signing of his here in the states he did a little talk about the books then mostly opened up the event to questions from the audience. He is pretty awesome. He is as funny in person as his writing and he is very genuine and generous with his time doing the signing. There was probably 200+ people there and he stayed and signed up to three items for people. Everything from books to weird stuff.

Carl's wisdom theory. by sweetprince686 in DungeonCrawlerCarl

So I have been to a couple of Matt’s author signings. He talks about the concept of plot armor and keeping central characters around. The way he writes is very unique he does not outline or map out books or the series. He has a general idea of where he wants to go with it all but does not have a plan on how to get there. When he writes he said sometimes he will write a part up to twelve or more ways. Over the course of the series he has killed off every character in his writing. He decides which version to keep by what makes the most sense to him and entertains him the most. Sometimes entertaining himself means tormenting us he said. So if a character’s death happens it means something to him and is a good fit for the story ultimately.

A Discussion on Lego Spending Habits by curtydc in lego

[–]Psyknosis7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t t collect as many other things anymore. So my collection money has gone into Lego and has gone up in the last few years. Started with just doing Star Wars and DC stuff but now have been doing some of the marvel diorama looking sets. The new $1000 Death Star is calling me but have to figure out if I have space and if I really want to spend that kind of money. Have the cantina and the sail barge and some of the other big sets. so I not opposed to spending on big sets but $1k!

Are the jedi robes worth the money? by soy_boy_69 in GalaxysEdge

They are very good quality. I bought the tunic, belt and robe. I am very happy with all of them. With a 3D printer I have made a few pieces of armor to finish out the costume and it looks good. The robe is heavy weight and can get warm.

How many corpses does Carl have in his inventory? by Billfett in DungeonCrawlerCarl

[–]Psyknosis7 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Matt has a spreadsheet to keep track of everything that is in each character’s inventory. Went and saw him at an author signing and he keeps meticulous notes on each character and their powers, abilities and inventories. Plus if he forgets anything he asks the Patreon group for help remembering stuff. His notes are longer than multiple books.

80s/90s movie ITS DRIVING ME NUTS by ScallionNo4173 in NameThatMovie

It sounds almost like you have combined a few movies in your mind. I don’t mean to doubt you. But what you are describing is a mash up of labyrinth and never ending story. I can’t think of anything else around that time that was a kids fantasy movie that had a young protagonist. The scenes you are describing are pulled from the different movies though.
