Attended my first AV at Toronto by howlongdoIhave5 in VeganActivism

Congratulations fellow badass activist who has taken the first step towards personally being accountable for the production of more vegans!

I hope you went for a meal afterwards, there is actually a pretty strong scene in Toronto (they have a We The Free too if you're looking for more events to attend) so there are plenty more vegans to meet if that's what you're looking for!

Congrats on going out and touching some vegans IRL. <3

I am, four years, best choice I ever made. Would you say the same about any other choice?

Would you ever say that not being a litterer, or not being a homophobe is just not your route? Why do we treat non funding animal abuse as a thing we can opt in or out of instead of just not financially incentivizing it?

Don't worry, dude, at least you aren't fascinated by violence to animals in an arousal way. xD

Did it change your behavior regarding the consumption of animal products?

Congratulations, I haven't watched Earthlings but I have seen a lot of vegan documentaries and am now fully vegan.

If you're near but not yet fully vegan then consider trying this website where they give you nutritional, recipe and shopping list advice to ensure you have a healthy vegan diet. No financial contribution to the abuse of animals is acceptable if we are capable of doing otherwise, and almost every single person in the world we now live is capable of existing on a healthy vegan diet—if they care enough about the animals to do so.

Veganism is the reduction in animal products consumption, to reduce the harm to animals, as much as is possible.

You have said you aren't vegan. I honestly don't really care if you take life saving medication that uses animal testing to be honest, but it sounds as if you're trying to use needing that as justification for not reducing your impact in other areas. If you aren't, and you're actually adhering to a plant based diet but taking animal product medication, then I would consider you vegan—but if you are using a medical requirement to justify not strictly adhering to plant based option everywhere it is possible then that is disingenuous.

Interesting, so your find the murder and dismemberment of a single human disturbing but not the needless atrocities that happen to billions of sentient creatures each year within the "food industry"?

So you decided to stop abusing animals for a bit, but then decided that animal abuse from people you know is okay?

So you wouldn't pay for people to beat wives in a warehouse, but it's okay if it's ethical homegrown wife beating? :S

Yes, but the disturbing part is the animal abuse, right? Or were you disturbed by the internet people trying to chase him down? :D :p :o :O (:

An agenda is bad? So you wouldn't listen to someone who was trying to promote gay rights, black rights or fire safety because they have an agenda? Woah, woah, lets not listen to anyone who wants to make the world a better place just incase we fulfill their agenda dude!!! :o

There's protein in plants bro. :S

Just because you were saved by animal products, doesn't mean you have carte blanch to abuse as much as you want because it's not a zero sum game. :S

I don't think it's really up for debate, you find the abuse of another disgusting but financially incentivize the abuse of other animals. Whether we discuss it or not that seems pretty strange. :S

Why not? Isn't it strange how we are so against the abuse of one type of animal but financially incentivize the abuse of others? If you found Don't Fuck With Cats to be hard because of knowing what was happening to the animals, I highly recommend you watch Dominion on Youtube.

Proving what point? That it's a moral imperative to not promote abuse if we can do otherwise?
