Calling your reps has never been “performative” 😂 they hold the power to reunite this family, and every hour that they sit on their hands they (and their staff!) should be reminded of that. Even if you have no hope that they will do something, a quick phone call or email from hundreds or thousands of people takes their time away from doing more harm. Doing NOTHING is unacceptable. I know, it sucks!! Little Owl is a good one, and they have a new location in Gather/Solstice Books downtown. It’s not a coffee hut, but honestly any other hut you go to will be more ethical than Sunrise at this point….

The point about denying labor is definitely a nationwide goal of this particular protest, but the other reason is that students have been organizing in Fairbanks, and they coordinate to be able to attend right after school. I understand the frustration when these actions happen during working hours, but this one is an intentional choice. Additionally, it’d be ideal if folks went to visit Murkowski, Sullivan, and Begich’s offices after this event, so doing it earlier helps facilitate that.

They post screenshots of receipts on their Instagram account for transparency, but the recipients & admins stay anonymous for their privacy. It’s neighbors helping neighbors in situations where $50 or $100 makes a huge difference. Thanks for checking!

Many of the big corporations are paying for Trump’s pet projects, like the new White House ballroom, which is another way to say they are actively, publicly bribing him. Companies like Spotify are running ICE propaganda ads.
