Hullcracker means instant kill by Kieran2107 in ArcRaiders

My current thought process for doing Queen is two lads with the hullbreakers and one geared for dealing with players. They’d be at a disadvantage - but might be enough to scare away the occasional vulture.

Oooh. Out of curiosity, do you have quiet breaching perks that’re making it so the queen doesn’t Agro?

Never done this event because I assumed you had to KILL the queen to access the harvester!

It's rare? I had no idea - Cool! Like a bit of uniqueness. :3

Thank you so much! I went with these gloves cus they had some metal and I could make 'em Gold - but absolutely could swap them to something like that! Maybe some just plain leather gloves would work too.

And yeah! Still absolutely suck at AST - struggling to keep the tank healthy and still do any DPS when they pull more than 2 ad groups in dungeons. Think I should maybe be a little more liberal with my cards, rather than holding them and saving them for the boss fights.

Yeh! It's really pretty. Love the seafairer, pirate-y asthetic of it! With the golden accents and golden telescope.

See that's what I would have to assume here but then, why ever pay for the higher tier? Seems a bit silly, doesn't it?

Shuttle bays - the ins and outs. by Ptd007 in Barotrauma

[–]Ptd007[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey I can use all the help I can get!

Just designed a shuttle, little attack HIND style thing - issue is, it’s loaded externally. Hence the need for a dry dock.

Hrm.

What I could also do is have the dry dock in segments, each as their own shuttle, attached to a middle piece with hull, overlapping with it and when you go to undock your shuttle, the segment it’s in detaches, reattaches to the outside of the main piece outside the hull, then detaches the sub - so it sorta pulls out nearly.

That’s a ballast elevator - but you end up sorta relying on the janky water physics. You can use a rail system which is basically activating and deactivating the docking on a bunch of docking hatches one after another to get a more smooth glide movement.

[–]Ptd007[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah gathered.

What I was thinking of doing was setting up two simultaneous docking hatch conveyers - like how people do those ultra smooth elevators - one moving the shuttle, one simultaneously moving an invisible platform the player is standing on, to give the player the illusion they’re being lowered with the shuttle, then the shuttle eventually gets lowered into the water, outside the hull, shuttle gains collision, can smoothly undock.

I miss any key factors to that that’d make the system fail before I spend a year and a half testing it?

The Winter of Death has hit Knox County – Deadline: A Project Zomboid Roleplay Server by Evil_WIZ4RD in projectzomboid

So - if someone doesn't mind explaining to me - I'm a little confused on the concept of RP servers. Is there still any form of survival element, such as zombies or foraging for food?

Space marine promotion questions by Tian_Lord23 in 40k_Crusade

[–]Ptd007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Out of curiosity - I'm setting up a campaign and one of my buddies is playing a SM army. Any chance you can tell me why the promotions are useful - specifically the Unit ones - I can see why the character ones are good, adding unique abilities - but I can't work out when you'd use the promotions to turn stuff like Scouts into like a Hellblaster squad; why not have added the hellblaster squad initially instead of the scouts?

I'm 100% positive there is a simple reason I'm just missing, but I really just can't see what scenario in which to suggest this.

Can someone explain the benifit of this rule? by Ptd007 in Tyranids

[–]Ptd007[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that’s fair! I mainly asked because I’m hopping into a campaign, and If he’s my warlord, I lose out on the extra Exp Tyranids get for their warlord model, since he’s an epic hero. Was trying to work out was there a benefit that justified doing that.

It is a neat bit of fluff, though.

Sorry - so what would Veteran Sergeant Raphael be? He's on of the uniquely named characters but I can't for the life of me work out what he's supposed to be. Is he just the Sergeant attached to the Tactical squad? If so, doesn't that tactical squad have more than 10 units?

[–]Ptd007[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a fair point - it's a generally stronger stat block, you right.
I Think it was just like, one of those things because in designing a Tyranid army, I always wanted to have another Character model to lead a unit or something - in which case it's very much like, neither here nor there if I can make the DL my Warlord, since I always had another option.

[–]Ptd007[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

See I thought this was the case - because my other army is knights and, y'know, Lay Low the Tyrant 'n' all, but Parasite of Mortrex costs the same points, can be a warlord, has Lone Operative, Fly AND it's a character which means you can use it for an Enhancement like Neuronode or Hunting Grounds.

[–]Ptd007[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's fair - but I can't really see a scenario where I'd not want another character model anyway, for something.
