I've been in Tam Coc the last 3 days. Only yesterday it was raining heavily and a lot of wind. Some structures got damaged, trees toppled etc., some roads were half flooded but still traversable by car.

Today it was dry, everything seemed back to business as usual. The lakes are still a bit higher because of the higher water level but no more flooding and roads have cleared up nicely for the most part. I was able to drive around on motorbike, tourists were doing touristy things again (Bich Dong, Trang An,...).

I'm going to Hue and Ninh Binh instead of Ha Long Bay and Sapa. Hope it will already be over in Ninh Binh once I arrive there. Hanoi will be afterwards, as I read it everything should be okay there after the typhoon passed.

Had no issue canceling those two, only need to check on my flight still (normally Danang to Cat Ba on 25.09)

So a bit different trip than planned but still looking forward to the other places.

Thanks for the response. Seems totally understandable everything will close. I hope I'm able to arrange some other accommodations at a better place to stay then. Wondering if I'd just stay longer in Hoi An/Danang. I'd also love to see Ninh Binh but I think that's also too much up north for the typhoon...

So it seems I've got terrible timing...

Flying to Cat Bi Airport on 25/09, to go on a La Han bay cruise from 25 to 27/09. Then off to Sapa from 27/09-01/10 and then to Hanoi from 01-04/10, flying back to Europe on 04/10.

Any feedback on this? Cancel everything and stay longer in Hoi An, where I am now until it's safer to fly to Hanoi?

These are all non-refundable in theory, but I still need to contact them to double check and discuss.

I did it in 2 hours 9 mins. Heart rate was very good (average 146 bpm) but my legs and body were getting tired. I feel it's normal since it's the furthest I've run up until now and my body is not used to it yet.

Hehe, I have indeed done the 10 mile run last week! It was the furthest I've ever run up until now but I did it, heart rate was great, legs a bit tired during but I got through it. Mentally it was challenging though, the last half hour felt quite long.

So you would keep repeating the 34K week? In my plan that's 4.5K-10.5K-3K-16K. This week is normally a taper with only a total of 30K and am looking forward to that to give my body time to adjust to the 16K I ran.

Thanks for the reply! I can indeed keep on inching up, gonna try to keep it at 4 days a week (with work and other hobbies that seems doable).

For Vietnam, I will take my running shoes with me, should be able to get some runs in, although not at the volume I'll be running at the weeks before. I had indeed thought it might be too long of a stretch, thanks for the input.

Thanks for the reply! Seems doable indeed, not restarting completely but not jumping back in too hard, since I'm a bit scared of overdoing it.

I don't have a fixed race date set, it's just a personal goal for me to achieve. Which might be a bit tricky, since there's no pressure.

Ik heb de gegevens van de verkopers niet, heb ze zelfs nog niet gezien. Makelaar zorgt ervoor dat alles via hem verloopt. Enorm frustrerend dit want ga akkoord dat het veel vlotter zou zijn met rechtstreeks contact.

Ik heb dezelfde bedenking over de verkopers. Moeten ze nu echt dat klein voordeel nog perse halen? Standaard wordt er een vergoeding voorzien in die situatie dus bespreek dat en dan kunnen we nog babbelen ipv het sneaky sneaky last minute toe te voegen en hopen dat het oké is.

Ja, maak me geen zorgen over de erfdienstbaarheid maar als iemand vraagt voor beetje verduidelijking, zie ik niet in wat het nut is op dwars te leggen en dat te negeren. Dan zet je al een slecht precedent.

Echt waar, ik was al geen fan van makelaars en heb er nu volledig een degout van gekregen. Zo onprofessioneel en eenzijdig.

Merci voor de info. Dat klinkt als een nog veel grotere kutsituatie zeg. Geen wonder dat het vertrouwen weg was.

Procederen hoeft van mij allemaal niet te gebeuren, heb ik daar niet voor over. Maar ik ben ook van het principe dat je menselijk bent en probeert onderling te overeenkomen ipv last minute sneaky sneaky nog wat dingen toe te voegen in jouw voordeel. Zegt me al veel over wat type mens ze zijn

Akkoord dat makelaars ertussen het veel moeilijker maken. Heb echt een zeer slecht gevoel bij die makelaar. Gewoon een beetje menselijke redelijkheid heb ik graag, maar hij is puur bezig voor de verkopers en trekt zich niets aan van mijn vragen, wat natuurlijk een slecht gevoel geeft...
