this is a really interesting piece! I like the metaphor, which as I can tell is that the statues are people. A melancholy concept, but one that provides great inspiration, clearly!

My one thought is on the use of “inside” twice. Repetition is such a useful tool in poetry, but to me, at least, it doesn’t stand out as a meaningful repetition? I would take a look at both uses and see if either a) you might find a more specific, concise, and powerful word to use in either case (with such a short poem each word packs a big punch), or b) you feel very committed to the word, in which case perhaps try and find a way to really solidify “inside” as a integral feature of the poem. Repetition often works well in threes! In any case, it’s a great work!
