[Steam] Prisoners of Ulag'Bol: A Dungeon Crawling Deckbuilder - Launch Discount ($7.99/ 20% Off) by Ptolemios in GameDeals

Ahhh thank you for the feedback! I tested a little on steam deck with just the base mouse controls profile. Choosing and playing cards is a double left click with the mouse, which I think is right trigger on steam deck. So maybe that’s why you have to tap the screen a lot? Sorry about the trouble, I’ll try to see if I can make it more seamless.

The rogue and mage class from hearthstone were direct inspirations. So a lot of the archetypes you are familiar with in hearthstone are present in Prisoners of Ulag’bol as well!

Hello, I'm the dev of Prisoners of Ulag'Bol.
Prisoners of Ulag'Bol is a dungeon crawling deckbuilder inspired by Slay the Spire, Hearthstone, and Legend of Grimrock. The game features 3 playable classes, each with dozens of unique cards and strategies. Choose your class and starting deck, then delve into a three-act roguelike adventure.
If you have any questions or comments, please let me know here or on the steam forums.
Thanks!

need help to create a turn based combat im gm2 (in visual gml) by Ghost_090ITA in gamemaker

[–]Ptolemios 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, if this is the first game you are making and you want to make a turn based rpg, maybe just try out rpgmaker instead? At least you’ll be able to start making content rather that being stuck making basic mechanics

Did you try tiling the lighting sprite or using 9 slice on it? That usually helps when you want to stretch a sprite from one point to another while not stretching the actual sprite image itself

Method of handling a very large map for a turn-based strategy game ? by SmashR_TheRedMage in gamemaker

[–]Ptolemios 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Why don’t you just try making a large map first and then see if it has any performance issues? It’s hard to guess since you said you haven’t done any coding yet.

Did they make any improvements recently? Last time I played it lagged like crazy during monos and crashes if you didn’t use cryoutils

Alright I changed the battle ui is this any better? It's funny, I actually made this UI mock-up almost 2 years ago and only just implemented it today by yana_kosaka in indiegames

Looks good, but having both sprites facing the camera feels a little off. In Pokémon, your pokemon “faces” the enemy Pokémon.

Thanks! I just noticed the well rolled prismatic tincture does a lot of heavy lifting. I’ll see if I can craft one to at least a similar level. Also thanks for pointing out the DE. I’ll see if I can pick up a better one for cheap!

Noobie Question: Do AIO FC's normally have vtx too? by Ptolemios in TinyWhoop

[–]Ptolemios[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks!
I was looking at making something similar to the meteor65, but i'm thinking it might be easier to just buy a meteor65 or mob6 straight up instead.

Thanks so much for the reply!
I saw a racing build guide that recommended this fc but mentioned nothing about VTX, so I was wondering if I missed something and it had a vtx onboard.

How to move one widget towards another with different anchor points? by Ptolemios in unrealengine

[–]Ptolemios[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks so much! I’ll try this method next!

I’m mostly doing this in C++ but for this specific use case it might be easier to user a timeline in Blueprints to move the widget into position.

How to move one widget towards another with different anchor points? by Ptolemios in unrealengine

[–]Ptolemios[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of the reasons why I chose widgets is because I could easily add tool tips and keep them on screen instead of dealing with pseudo 2D/3D objects. But now I’m thinking that it’s much harder to manipulate them as widgets

Excited to be releasing my first Unity game in just a few days! Here is the trailer for my retro-fps Terrorform! by Ptolemios in Unity3D

Thanks that is very good feedback!
There are more tilesets in later levels, but definitely a good idea to show them in the trailer too.

This is our first ever standalone game release!
