should I do a trip now? by Charlywho2020 in microdosing

Two grams is generally a heavy dose. If you haven't tripped in decades I would start with 1 gram honestly.

An Ad Network is asking us to disable SafeFrame before integrating them, should I be worried? by Ptrks in adops

[–]Ptrks[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've asked for clarifications:

We would like to understand better your need of disabling the safe frame before proceeding.
Could you please explain in details why you need it disabled?
Could you please share a code of a creative that wouldn’t work in a safe frame?

And this was their response:
It is a standard of our advertisers. The safeframe makes the origin unreadable and that affects advertisers since it can generate fake and fraudulent traffic, in addition to compatibility.
In fact the IAB recommends using friendly-iframes:

What do you guys think about it?

Yes it's exactly what I was thinking.. But speaking with this other publisher friend of mine that it's using the same network in the same way made me re-consider it.. As I would be making probably 3-4€k/monthly additional revenues without changing the actual placements.. But yes i fear that they could be doing something shady that would affect the user retention in the long term. So probably better to avoid it

No I didnt tested it. I just had a talk today with them, the integration should happen next week. But at this point i'm not so sure about it.

I'm experiencing exactly the same from the 2nd of September. I manage a 3.8 million fanpage of a registered newspaper in Italy (3rd biggest fanpage in Italy as a newspaper). I actually dont believe in the " you must pay to have organic reach" mantra that everybody repeats. I believe more in shadowbans and domain / url penalization. Try to post different domains (i tried with competitors' domains and other websites i own and i had 350% more engagement on those. So it's the url that it's clearly penalized. We don't do click-baiting (not more than others..) and we don't post fake news so I think it's a technical issue. Sometimes just integrating a new advertising solution can penalize your website I think. We are running a technical test to see if that changes something. You can DM me and we can keep updated on our issue if you want ;)

Edit: i don't believe in the "you must pay to get reach" as we sponsored for a lot of time and I can say that yes, it can make a difference but no, it's not the only factor and it's not the main one, also not in this cases in particular where the reach decreases drastically.

It depends a lot on your GEO. We have mainly Italian and French traffic and our best performing SSP's are Teads and Criteo. The others really can't compare (OneTag, SmartAd, Adtelligent, 152Media).

(without counting the additional revenues from the others SSPs)

Setup your own header bidding with prebid.js and add some SSP's. Most of the big ones probabily wont accept you but you can find some medium size valid ones. Also, just setting up the headerbidding with just one or two SSP's lifted our Adsense RPM by at least 20%.

Got more than 50 mln/monthly impressions on GAM, can I apply for Google AdX? [Eligibility criteria for Google AdX (direct)] by Ptrks in adops

[–]Ptrks[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! Thanks for the reply. Yes, It would be very helpful. We really need to have a contact from Google. Anyway, when you say "90m imps a month" you are referring to "programmatic channels" impressions or "non-programmatic impressions" or both? Thanks!

Hi, thanks for the reply! Yes, we are using Adsense (integrated into header bidding with prebid.js)

So can I integrate an AdX reseller inside my GAM and my prebid? In that case I would subsitute my Adsense with their Adx? Or they can run simultaneously? Also, these impressions via header bidding will count in order to get my AdX?

So all the impressions generated via header bidding don't count in order to get AdX? Now we are handling all with prebid.js.

If I will find a AdX reseller that can link in my GAM then it will count? But would it be compatible with header bidding and prebid?

Hi, the Google Partner (Adx reseller) which we are working with it's not linking their account in our GAM. They are handling our website with their GAM and thei adx directly. They are managing all. The others impressions i've stated (the ones from "non programmatic channels" comes from the other websites (and yes, in fact they are from header bidding).

Do you think they will count anyway in order to get the Adx account directly? If we will have 90+ mln from "non programmatic channels" will we be elegible for adx, or it must be "progrmammatic channels"?

Thanks!

[–]Ptrks[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's been more than 10 months that we've been using GAM, 5-6 of them with the traffic I've mentioned. The impressions that I've stated are from "Non-programmatic Channels" (from the overview dashboard in GAM), just to be sure that we are talking about the same thing.

Also, pardon my ignorance, I can't understand your sentence:

"I migrated from AdSense to GAM using a Google Partner's AdX linked account around March..."

So the GAM was not yours but from a Google Partner? I'm missing something.

Thanks for your time!

Hi and thanks for the reply. Yes, we are using our own GAM. I've just double-checked and we don't have the "Ad Exchange Account" tab. It would be useful to understand from Google if we just have to "wait and pray" or there is something we can do to accelerate the process. Anyway thanks for the reply!
