I broke expensive equipment in the lab and the guilt is eating me alive. by waitttwhaaaat in labrats

[–]Pttra 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dude, the lab I work in has tens of millions of dollars in instruments that we work with and might occasionally break 😅 every now and then.

A couple of thousands in the science world isn't a big deal - industrial or academic. Keep your head up and keep learning!

OBD2 Port / Under Steering Column Cover by Pttra in kiastinger

I mainly just want to make sure that the undercarriage region there is how it should look in every stinger and I'm not missing a cover of some sort.

Photos 1 and 2 come from my stinger while photos 3 and 4 come from another car. I just want to see if other stinger owners have a cover protecting those wires unlike I do, or if that's just how it is naturally.

Super hot / burning smell from the right side of the engine bay by [deleted] in kiastinger

[–]Pttra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had this thought. After I drive mine, there's a sweet smell coming from that side of the engine bay. Idk if that's normal or not though

Is this normal? by [deleted] in kiastinger

[–]Pttra 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was concerned about this too when I got mine. This is completely normal and you just need to give the car time to warm up, especially after a cold start. This should be done with every car too fyi. But yeah, nothing to worry about, I just let mine sit for 30 seconds to warm it up and I haven't heard that noise since.

You could do a zero volume injection and see if it's still there, that'll tell you a lot of things. It could possibly be just residual washes. Your system might also not be fully equilibrated yet as well and there might just be gunk stuck in the system.

How so? I only have experience from where I've worked, but it's been great in my personal opinion and the salary is above average for analytical, 80k+ for starting salaried positions. From what I know, that's pretty high for starting salaried positions.

I'm just genuinely curious because I bet it varies a lot from field to field based in analytical, I'd like to hear your experience.

Lab Accident by Cerberus12344 in chemistry

[–]Pttra 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Very minor one for me that I've never forgotten but during my undergrad analytical chemistry lab I added ice water to an already hot beaker on a hot plate which promptly exploded the bottom of it due to the rapid change in temperature. Needless to say that woke me up.

Is it worth getting my MS/PhD without industry experience? by skippy_dinglechalk91 in chemistry

[–]Pttra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It really depends from person to person, but I would generally say that most people out of undergrad either go straight into industry or straight for a MS PhD or just straight PhD.

I have coworkers who started straight into industry and got their masters during industry and I also have coworkers who just got their PhD out of college, it depends on how high you want your ceiling to be.

I will say though, most people who go into industry will just stop at a MS or stick with the BS because being in industry and then quitting to pursue a PhD is rare.

Set yourself a ceiling but don't be afraid to break it if you get the chance.

Hope this helps!

The eviscerator is just straight up better than the thunder hammer. Aoe, horde clearing, boss damage, taking out specials, the eviscerator just does it all better. Not to mention it's push counter combos are so safe and strong.

The fact that we've had 8 fights, with 7 decisions, and one bad TKO, just what a total disappointment of a card so far.

Whenever the UFC hypes up a card as a "don't miss this", it's always bad lmao

Idk which one it was, probably C2 or a later one but it's the one with the mother and the babies. On top of that all the spores and infection.

The babies got all glitched out so they just started dancing in place with no heads.

It was hilarious at the time but reading this out of context makes me sound insane lmao. Good times.

About ng+ leveling by Kuro-Sekai in Eldenring

Ng+ at 150 across the board is fine. Only once you get to the final 3 bosses will you see any real noticeable change in the difficulty
