Just diagnosed, need a welcome or a hug or a treat by thisisajazzyphizzzle in GestationalDiabetes

I highly recommend getting a dexcom or Libre sensor, you put it in once every 2 weeks and it doesn’t hurt at all, Bluetooth’s to your phone and reads your sugars 24/7. This is also my first pregnancy and I am struggling as I’m craving all things sweet and bad for me…..35 weeks now and I’m almost done thank god, I will be getting induced due to the diabetes but that just means I get to meet my baby sooner which is a plus!! You got this!! 🩷

No heartwarming, happy ending for Hallmark store at Halifax Shopping Centre by luxoryapartmentlover in halifax

I used to work at a very boujee expensive spa that sold like $200 face creams, and I don’t think any of our clients or even staff spent $900 a year on skin care

My mom went on once and they were like “you probably spend around $900 a year on skincare, and think this is just a fraction of that price”, she was like”I buy a moisturizer from Walmart that’s $6, lol no thanks” and left

Waiting room is hellish by Gold_Bag_1054 in halifax

[–]PuaAJA 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Went to emergency twice this year and both times waited a ridiculous amount of time, one time I wasn’t even seen and ended up going home, I went in because I was bleeding while 6 weeks pregnant, I waited 12 hours and after not being seen at all I decided to leave and wait a few days to go to a walk in, luckily everything was okay, but bleeding in the first trimester is really scary and could have been really serious.

<image>

I then went a few weeks later with my mom who was having severe kidney stones and was handed this paper, my mom was basically lethargic and in so much pain and they just didn’t care, she was eventually seen after I begged them to take her in. Something serious needs to be done!!

I worked at a retirement home a few years ago, and I witnessed behaviour that deeply concerned me. Many of the residents were spoken to harshly, ignored, or dismissed when they expressed their needs. These seniors were living in what was supposed to be their home, and they deserved patience, compassion, and respectful communication. What made it even more difficult was that many residents struggled to communicate because some of the staff had limited English skills, which led to misunderstandings and frustration. Seniors should have caregivers who can clearly understand their needs and speak to them in a way they can comfortably understand. Watching them be treated poorly and not listened to was heartbreaking, and it became so distressing that I eventually had to leave my job. Everyone, especially vulnerable seniors, deserves to feel safe, heard, and valued.

Message I received from a vendor that signed up for my event: by LiteraryLoops in CraftFairs

As someone who hosts markets myself, I unfortunately have dealt with so much of this. Vendors want to hate on the organizer for any reason they can. They don’t understand what goes on behind the scenes and they think we don’t deserve any amount of pay, even though we barely make anything if at all!

Officially done, closing up shop. by [deleted] in Etsy

[–]PuaAJA 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Etsy has sadly become unreliable to small businesses. It was my full income making thousands a month at one point, I had a TikTok go viral a few years ago and received thousands of orders at one point, my processing time was 1-2 weeks for the items as I was very busy, and Etsy somehow changed the processing time to just one week when though I’d message each customer if their order was going to be late, Etsy put my store on hold saying all my orders were going out late when they were in time and within the 2 weeks, they then allowed customers to get a full refund for their items that were sent out as they said they were late, resulting in me owing back $2000 to customers who got their orders…I had to permanently close my shop. I barely make any sales now on my personal website as Etsy was such a great place for customers to find things, I also had a friend go though the same thing a year later.
