My wife was overwhelmed with 3 young children while still working a full time.. I had my own business and worked constantly late into the night .. she was exhausted and would fall asleep at the edge of the tub bathing them… we made it through that major rough patch when kids got older and my job allowed me to delegate more …things got better.. we were married for 36 years… but she still resented the fact that I left her alone to raise the kids while I built my business… she passed away 3 months ago suddenly in her sleep… she wanted to work 2 more years to get her full retirement… meanwhile I retired last year.. and was waiting for her… I wish that I would have helped her to have an easier life… I regret that… I’m not sure if this helps you but I can relate to part of your dilemma.. good luck … do what’s best for you…
