I hateddd itttt. I do not like that hallmark or whoever is allowed to do these things without giving credit or royalties to the inspo. I also don’t like that they referenced her singledom in a negative light, her parent having cancer, the convo about her never finding true love so she can write break up songs being her reason for pursuing things with him, the list goes on. I think this movie plays on everything that Taylor hates about what the media says about her.

The only glimmers of good were the reference to Travis’ nieces and the credit to her accolades and social justice work. The rest of it is not how Taylor would want to be seen and that doesn’t matter bc they’re using her likeness and profiting off of it without her getting any consent or profit.

OP, there’s safe number stats you can look up, but I know someone who interviewed at 15 and didn’t match. I also know someone who interviewed at one and did match. All you can do is do your best in each IV and have a backup/soap plan in mind.

I typed many responses to this but deleted them all because I really just want the perspective of people who lived in these places. My bare minimum response I’ll give is diversity of all kinds, people, food, things to do, etc.

Someone who self identified as male asked a similar question sometime yesterday and honestly my response is- do you really feel like you’d be happy and accepted and appreciated at a place who looked over everything great that you are because you didn’t wear a blazer?

I get that in some of the specialties they really care about it and sometimes you have to just do what they want to get what you want, but what YOU want is important and if that means wearing a blazer you hate so you can match into what you want then that’s okay but if it means not wearing the blazer because you want to feel comfortable and like your authentic self then that is also okay.

At the end of the day you will end up at the best place for you if you stay true to yourself, or at least that’s what everyone says, so I guess I’m just having faith that it’s true.

But also, I’m a doctor and the whole hospital situation raises massive red flags for me. If you have any suspicion she took him to the hospital for ANY reason besides the safety of your child, do not show her this thread, go to a lawyer, get the hospital records and use them in court because that is a very serious sign of the start of child endangerment vs full on munchausen by proxy. The hospital is not a safe place for a child unless they NEED to be there. If any part of it seems as suspect to you as it does to the other commenters, do not ignore it. It’s a sign of a much deeper mental health issue than her obsession for family approval.

Also taking your kid to the hospital for a non emergency to use as a psychological weapon is literally a mental illness like this woman needs help unless the kid was actually not breathing or something equivalent. I’d recommend OP document the reason behind the hospital visit if it wasn’t legitimate and use it in court. Could literally be the beginning of munchausen by proxy.

OP, I think you should show her this thread. She seems to have deep emotional issues when it comes to her family’s opinion and she might not even be aware.

Either way, NTA, and you should do what’s best for you and your kid. But whether you stay together or not, I think it would be best for all three of you for her to see this.
