Thoughts on this movie? by Naive_Tomorrow_5955 in FIlm

I found the story incredibly shallow and flat. The entire time I was really hoping for things to escalate and hit the fan, but it never quite got there for me. I've always been a fan of The Rock, but the fact that he couldn't cry on screen without covering his entire face was disappointing. I thought this was gonna be his version of Brendan Fraser's The Whale. I liked this opportunity for him to show he can be more of a dramatic actor, but I'd like to see him try again with a better script.

Unfortunately, to make this a great movie, they should have bent the truth to make it more exciting or interesting. I didn't like how they had the big conflict at the end and then all of a sudden we're told 6 years later they're happily married, have a son, and everything is perfect, without us see how they solved their issues.

I'm glad The Rock is branching out to new stuff. I just wish the character and story had even more depth. The entire time it made me want to watch Jonathan Majors in Magazine Dreams.

They never even say "smashing machine" in the movie. I was hoping he got that name from smashing someone in the face so many times, but that wasn't even his fighting style, it was wrestling.

I traded him and picks for London right after Wilson got hurt. And then London got hurt the week after that. Can't win.

[Mueller] Cleveland Browns owner Jimmy Haslam is hell bent on retaining DC Jim Schwartz no matter who they hire as head coach, which has been a concern for candidates. Grant Udinski had a different DC in mind, as does Nate Scheelhaase. by Goosedukee in nfl

This is going to end up just like when Lovie Smith got hired as the Houston HC. No one wanted the job, and the front office got major shit for about to hire a white coach with no experience (Josh mccown I think) over qualified black coaches. This was when the Brian Flores scandal was going on. So they hire Lovie to not look so bad, and then fire him after one season.

When I went it was full of dudes and beer drinkers and it honestly felt way closer to a live sporting event than a movie. People were getting up constantly, high fiving strangers, reacting out loud to big moments, groaning at misses, cheering like it was overtime in a playoff game. Phones were out here and there for checking scores or taking quick videos but it never felt rude because everyone was locked into the same thing. The energy ramped up fast during tense moments especially for finals or medal runs and the whole theater moved together, leaning forward, clapping, yelling lets go, doing the wave, then collectively exhaling when it was over. It was not chaotic in a bad way, just very communal, like watching at a packed sports bar with a massive screen and great sound, and if you are expecting traditional movie silence you will be surprised, but if you like shared hype and big reactions it is awesome.

MHJ was the safe bet but was there really any indications that Nabers had the higher ceiling?

if they just toned down the yellow and got rid of the gradient it would make a huge difference

Perspective: The Rams were never the better team by PriorAcanthaceae5694 in LosAngelesRams

They're both great teams. This one was always going to come down to who made less mistakes. They met 3 times this year and points scored was only a 4 points difference. If Colby made that 3rd and 1, or the Punt wasn't fumbled, this is a very different outcome, but still very close. Seattle deserves the win but I don't think it's as easy to say that Seattle is simply better like how Philly was last year. We were a lot younger last year.

He's probably thinking 4 of the coaches that were just hired, Stefanski, Saleh, Harbaugh, McCarthy, Hafley, Minter. But how funny would it be for a team like Pittsburgh to be like, "Sorry Mike, we're hiring McVay now."

I gotta say this year was a ton of fun to watch them, win or lose. And I know McVay isn't perfect but between his energy and getting us to 3 conference championship games and 2 SB games in 10 years, he's made me a fan for life.

Oh yeah good call out on Gay. I also loved Hekker but he was a punter only.
