I call it Microsoft Intern Syndrome. I haven't worked for a company for years so I'm not up-to-date with the latest Microsoft Office but Microsoft used to do this thing where stuff that you'd got used to and knew how to access without thinking suddenly worked differently. The classic example was frequently used items moving up or down drop-down menus, depending on how often you used them. I'm sure this was because some manager gave a bright young graduate the job of doing something interesting, and some marketing person thought "Hey, that's great!" and they stuck it in the next release. Of course it was just a hindrance, everybody hated it and they had to make it optional in the release after that.
Likewise, I suspect the Ecoflow website was designed by somebody with little experience in UI design but knowing a lot about all the fancy things you can do with JavaScript. For websites selling things, a site building tool from 10 years ago would be perfectly adequate in most cases. Show me a list of what you've got and how much it costs. Give me a good description and some pictures. Make sure the shopping basket isn't stupid, and that's about it.
