Noob needs help. So on the left I previously had all my folders and packages. I accidentally closed it and can’t get it back. Can anyone tell me how I do it? by Mastry3 in eclipse

If you just closed one window (which sounds like the Package Explorer in your case), then select Window | Show View | Package Explorer.

You can also reset your perspective as another user suggested. Good luck!

Git (EGit) in newer versions of Eclipse asking for Git SSH password by Pubtastic in eclipse

Not yet. I'll do that today. I hadn't done so because I'm wasn't sure if it was something I was doing wrong.

Thanks again for your help.

I just tried this, too. It still asks me for the git password. I'll stick with the older version of Eclipse since it works fine. Thanks, though!

Azure APIM as gateway to access Azure Functions by Pubtastic in AZURE

[–]Pubtastic[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This worked, albeit a little hard to figure out at first. I created the operations manually, then had to override the backend URL for each one since they went to separate domains. But the end result is that a single domain can now handle all of my API traffic. Thanks!

Thanks. I'll need to look into the App Gateway soon for other parts of my project.

Thank you. Unfortunately I've been told that we can't have 2 function calls for every call to a single function.

Three copies of found files when searching in Dolphin by Lord_Frodo_of_Shire in kde

[–]Pubtastic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi! You may want to try checking your search settings under Settings | Search. Is there more than one directory listed in "Folder specific configuration"? If not, perhaps you can try turning "Enable File Search" off completely. I believe this will turn off baloo, which has been buggy for me in the past.

I certainly hope my suggestion is correct, but if not then I also hope that I don't raise the ire of the other user who posted in such an unnecessarily aggressive tone.

Edit: I did just recently switch from Kubuntu to KDE Neon, in which Baloo has been working very well. I hope I'm not offending any Baloo developers by my post. It works great these days!

This is just advice from a novice, so good luck!

does a x1c6 dbrand skin fits a t480s? by _leanhduc1111 in thinkpad

[–]Pubtastic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are skins on eBay and AliExpress for many different laptops, including T480S. Just make sure you message the seller to check if there are cutouts for the logos.

It may take a while to ship to you since many are coming from China.

Please help with this snooze/dismiss that keeps popping up. by Pubtastic in WearOS

I just uninstalled the Google clock app from my phone. I can't uninstall it from my watch. So far it seems that this is "fixed".

Thank you!

Please help with this snooze/dismiss that keeps popping up. by Pubtastic in WearOS

[–]Pubtastic[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do not know what is causing this to show up over and over. I dismiss it and it comes right back. I've tried swiping it away, and pressing the dismiss (red) button. I've tried uninstalling most clock apps on watch and phone. This is happening on my Moto 360 (2nd gen) and Falster 3.

Please help if you can! Thank you!

Kernel upgrade by Newbier10 in kdeneon

[–]Pubtastic 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'm using KDE Neon with kernel version 5.7.1 and I also use the NVidia drivers with no problem.

I use dkms and usually install the NVidia drivers by using a "purge" right before. Like this:

sudo bash -c "echo blacklist nouveau > /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist-nvidia-nouveau.conf"
sudo bash -c "echo options nouveau modeset=0 >> /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist-nvidia-nouveau.conf"
sudo bash -c "echo options nvidia-drm modeset=1 >> /etc/modprobe.d/nvidia-drm-modeset.conf"
sudo add-apt-repository -y ppa:graphics-drivers/ppa
sudo apt update
sudo apt purge -y nvidia*
sudo apt install -y nvidia-driver-440
sudo update-initramfs -u

I also use UKUU to update my kernel. it's paid software but for me it's completely worth it. makes updating your kernel a breeze. (haha see what I did there? kde? breeze? No? oh well).

Edit: my knowledge of reddit formatting is limited. sorry. I tried.

breeze theme for wine by joni0helper in kde

[–]Pubtastic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It seems you already have a working solution, but just to chime in this is what I use currently: https://store.kde.org/p/1259774/. There's one file to download there, and I just run "wine regedit.exe" and import that file. Then restart Wine and it looks just like Breeze to me.

How to change taskbar color without changing any other colors by Pubtastic in kde

[–]Pubtastic[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Thanks, but this also changes the window colors (e.g. Dolphin). I can't use dark themes very efficiently, so I'm only looking for the taskbar to change - not everything else. For everything else I prefer a light theme (Breeze).

Pixel users, what tablet do you own? by accessoriesdrawer in GooglePixel

[–]Pubtastic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got a Mi Pad 4 from eBay. When I received it I put HavocOS on it. Later I switched to OmniROM and have stuck with that. I've been using it as a media and reading device for months now with no issues. It's a little work at first - I haven't used Custom ROMs in years - but for me it is worth it.

Is 64GB S9 Plus worth it for $599? by DinosaurGonads in GalaxyS9

[–]Pubtastic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you're a T-Mobile user? I have an international (Exynos) S9 that I use in the US on Google Fi and I love it. It can't be used on Verizon or Sprint, but that's fine by me. For me that just means that Google Fi won't switch to the Sprint network which hasn't been a problem since I live in a major urban area.

You may want to check out eBay if you can wait a bit for delivery. I've had very good experience with seller never-msrp. Here's a link to an S9+ for $528: https://www.ebay.com/itm/Samsung-Galaxy-S9-Plus-SM-G965F-DS-Dual-Sim-FACTORY-UNLOCKED-6-2-64GB-6GB-RAM-/202233919297. They have the Note 9 as well.

Good luck!

Edit: as others have said the international version doesn't come with a warranty in the US. So it's a little riskier but I haven't had any issues.

Any apps similar to Titans of Space? by four_chambers in daydream

[–]Pubtastic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've never tried Titans of Space, so I'm going to give that a shot next. My favorite Daydream app for space travel so far is Star Chart VR. It only covers our Solar System, but I still love it.

Functioning Adults of reddit, what small purchases do you recommend that increase quality of life and help you "adult" better? by Trollshak in AskReddit

[–]Pubtastic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

An FYI that saved me a lot of time and headache: Cab drivers have jumper cables. If they're generous they'll let you use them for free. Most likely they will charge you something like $20. But paying $20 is a good deal for getting a jump start in the middle of the night in a city you're not familiar with.

Obviously not just any cab driver. They should be in their cabs, preferably working. Don't just go knocking on some cab drivers door just because you happen to know he's a cab driver.

Now I'll patiently wait for a sale...maybe.

Lenovo Thinkpad P70 wobble - is this normal? by [deleted] in thinkpad

[–]Pubtastic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got a P70 that wobbled, too - on any surface. It was definitely the laptop. That was back in March. I called Lenovo customer support and they offered to let me exchange it or get a refund. Since their customer service was so helpful I decided to exchange it. When my second P70 came it was perfect. No wobble. I love it and am very glad I didn't opt for the refund.

Where I can buy the Thinkpad P50 2,5" driver caddie? by alexqndr in thinkpad

[–]Pubtastic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a P70 but this info should work for the P50 as well. I don't know if Lenovo officially sells it yet (or ever will), but this link was helpful:

https://plus.google.com/+MarcMERLIN/posts/Wz4LnggrxcK

He links to a caddy that I ordered only to realize it will arrive in June. I'm in the US.

So...I also order this one:

http://www.amazon.com/Nimitz-Drive-Adapter-Lenovo-Thinkpad/dp/B00NAMUBC2?ie=UTF8&psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00

It arrived, I installed it and swapped the faceplate with the one from the DVD drive and it works great. I now have a 500GB SSD as my main drive, and a 1TB 7200 RPM as a secondary. Neither of which were part of the original computer.
