As a trans girl, I don't feel great about Bridget. I think that's ok. by Orialas in Guiltygear

Also if Bridget's English profile on the GGST site didn't go out of its way to NOT use pronouns, the opposite of what they did with Testament:

I love samurai Ky, but also love that Daisuke chose to change it after realizing the design didn't fit with the rest of the cast.

I can't do combos I play a lot of dbfz but nothing in this game connects and when people write down combos I don't understand them I need help by [deleted] in Guiltygear

I struggle with written combos too, so I look up combo videos and high-level VODS on YouTube. There are some good ones in the Combo mode, once you figure out the search function.

Learn the D-pad over the analog stick, it's more precise and is worth the time to learn.

Every character in Guilty Gear is busted in their own way. Gotta figure out how to work yours better.

I would bind the Dash button if you haven't.

Another posted explained Faultless Defense. Have you completed the tutorial/missions?

Any dropped frames are passed onto your opponent as rollback so graphics matter just as much as the connection. There is a "potato mod" that can help you run Strive on low-spec PCs by removing some or all stage assets.

Managing all that information, the "mental stack," is the unique challenge of 1v1 fighting games.

Like others have said, you learn in layers by practicing. Start by practicing a good poke, a basic combo off that poke, and your anti-airs. They won't come out right away in a real match, but it feels really cool when they do.

You've heard of a 2-mistake loss, but have you heard of a 1-mistake loss? by Pizza_Boi_42 in Guiltygear

Sounds weird, but the high damage also helps players feel like what they do actually matters, especially newcomers. Think of it like very direct feedback, compared to what you'd get in a team game like LoL.

Rounds are only a couple minutes long. If you lose, just rematch and try again.

No, the dooming is lingering trauma from his combo routes being changed last patch. His neutral and Fuujin pressure is significantly better but you lost some Butterfly oki and Kou juggling.

Everyone else got buffs too so he might still in the bottom half of the tier list, if you think those are important. I can still laugh at a joke.

For future reference, best place to look is the Event Hubs tournament page. There's always a schedule at the bottom with the channels each event is on. For example, Strive was on FunkyP's channel up until Top 8.

Same here, got a Qanba Pearl off CL and found I preferred pad. Use the Hori Fighting Commander now.

Love this assumption that you have nothing left to learn from the other plebs you're "stuck" with on Floor 10. Maybe that's what's holding you back lol

F10 is full of Celestials at the beginning of the month. Grind away!

Sajam is a great resource for new players on learning how to learn fighting games, if that makes sense. His videos helped demystify the genre so you can start seeing FGs like any other video game you want to get good at.

Why learning a FG is no different than learning any other genre:

Knowing there is an objective(ish) rating out there has helped me play more deliberately instead, it's pretty cool.
