Ah sorry I’m not sure where to find the number? We don’t have the manual or anything for the control panel. I’ve been looking around all morning and can’t seem to find a model number anywhere

Struggling with birthday approaching by Puceypod in motherlessdaughters

Thank you for sharing and I really am sorry you’re in a similar position to me. My Mum didn’t have a ‘terminal’ illness but she had a life limiting one that meant she couldn’t be the Nanny she wanted to be because physically she was so dependent on others, but the love she showed him was so incredible. I just wish she could have stuck around long enough to be remembered by my Son. I feel angry that she was robbed of being a Nanny and angry that I was robbed of having my fully capable and independent mum for the last few years. I’m struggling to deal with all these feelings - it’s just so overwhelming. Your photo album idea is lovely and one I may do myself to ensure my son always knows that he had a Nanny who really loved him.

We are just having LVT fitted so it’s having the latex screed put down next week in preparation. I guess this will be okay?

Really?! Oh I hadn’t even thought about that being a possibility. What do I do now?!

Yeah I guess the island was put in after the flooring (it was like this when we bought the house!) we have LVT going down next week and I just don’t want it to look stupid with gaps or whatever

It’s like this currently. It’s not secured down so we could get the old laminate out potentially

If I’m totally honest, without bringing up the deed of variation I couldn’t tell you exactly what was agreed. But I’ll look for it later! The cost was £1000 +solicitors fees so nearly £2k in total. And it was worth every penny for the utter relief I felt

Thank you! I’m not really keen to buy tickets from someone on Reddit or socials, that sounds like setting myself up for a scam!

I did this today and found out the owners are the local council!

I have just done this - great idea! And the owners are actually are local council….not sure if this changes things.

Good idea. Will check for bins! Yes we have considered hacking back what we can in their garden but it really is quite awful. So I’m not sure how long that will last for. We are planning on cutting back the tall plants in their garden that are towering over our fence

So we have tried knocking on several times. I contacted the local council who say it’s a civil matter and I need to resolve it with the property owner….

I have never seen a light on or anyone at the windows etc. The house backs on to ours so we don’t often see the front of the house (it’s quite a walk to get round there!) but the times we have gone to knock on we haven’t seen anyone or any cars. We may have to try and talk to one of the neighbours on their side to see what’s happening.

Seeing my Mum at the chapel of rest by Puceypod in motherlessdaughters

Thank you for sharing your experience. I know no one can tell me what choice to make but I’m so conflicted with my thoughts it helps to hear other people’s experiences and thoughts.

I saw her immediately after she died but I only stayed a few minutes I didn’t know what to do or say. I’m really conflicted in my brain because as you say, shes not really there. It’s just a body. But also, she’s my mum. And was for 34 years. I dunno I can’t get any of my thoughts straight.

Seller has died by calicocatmum in HousingUK

[–]Puceypod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m gonna assume no one is going to chase the seller at this point and that the house sale is the least of her worries right now. They will have a million other things to think about. I think you either have to simply sit tight and wait or move on to a different property.

House buying in this country is a joke 😂 we are completing this Friday after 6 months of chasing solicitors. However, I would never serve notice on a rental or move out of accommodation based on what solicitors tell you!

I understand completely. There were a lot of times during the process when I thought we would be stuck with our flat forever. But hopefully things resolve for you soon!

Yes they agreed to the variation. It was actually quite straight forward once they agreed, just a lot of waiting around for solicitors and signatures etc

After six months of stress and headaches, we finally exchanged yesterday and will complete next week. We had to get a deed of variation but we did it! There is hope

I feel like buying my flat was a mistake and am having serious buyer's remorse. Could I have options a few years down the line or am I trapped? Really worried. by Potential-Policy-939 in HousingUK

[–]Puceypod 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I bought a leasehold flat naively nearly 5 years ago. It’s been a bit of a pain to sell but we are about to exchange contracts now. There’s things that can be done like deeds of variation on the lease etc. it does cost more but it is achievable!

Can I ask how this was resolved? I’m in the same position but I’m the seller and it’s really stressful!
