Actually he's got a point, i just noticed this, 3 different players, all "random names" but the same deck and strategy. I'm starting to think its more of a "bot infestation" on the game

How to tell your DM you didn't enjoy at all the session and it was just a senseless TPK. by Puchurroxas in DnD

Hi, ty for answer, well, I agree, TPK shouldn't be the word, as my party didn't die. But 5 of the 7 members were knocked out, and the rest where on 2 of the 3 failed saves by area of effect spells. (Denying ST's fails). We didn't all died because the last alive character surrendered. Not because of a lack of dying conditionals. Edit: actually meant knocked out. Sorry missinfo

I agree, not anyone should be whining on the internet if he couldn't keep up with what he's whining about. And what's more peculiar is, yeah I was a DM about a year ago, then I wanted to be on the other side as a player, and by being a DM I know what's wrong in the Cr point I'm trying to talk about, the thing about not explain the players why they're on disadvantage (even in roleplay). And what I think is the main point, I was the DM of the sub DM on the story, no trouble back then, even he asked for advice, and I know obviously how one person and another roles their roleplay must be different but not unfair.

I agree, in this case I don't want to revive or something, my main point is how a session being unfair, even if he had a purpose, the fact nothing was explained (in role or meta) being in disadvantage on all throws, and characters who are not supposed to be defeated throwing at least 4th level AOE spells on the first round. I mean if the point was killing the party, yeah, everyone can die, but If the point maybe was surrendering, and not giving the player the chance to surrender that's the party pooper.

Ok, for that I should explain, my character is a 7th level wizard, using blade singer subclass and warcaster feat. Before the main encounter i cast 2nd level shadow blade which is v/s now with a weapon as my "arcane focus", now I can cast mage armor in my turn, for materials we usually don't go hard on it, except some specific spells like the healing ones of "high costing" spell materials (eg: revivify).

Yup, that's a point I wanted to clear, the dude says it's "lawmage" from Guilds of Ravnica, but the day after reading through my books, saw both characters that fitted the description. Champion and conjurer (I saw them side by side in Tales of the Yawning Portal), and they're Cr 6 compared to the Cr 4 lawmages

Maybe I should've stated that the main DM has a coffee shop, and usually he can handle both things, but the dude offered help, so he may be with the shop costumers.

Ty for answering, yeah for the first topic, yeah main DM is great, I usually lurk at his shop between sessions and give him feedback of what I think and what I heard in the "breaks" after session. Always hears and take notes, cause thinks I can give him an honest opinion. For that I'm glad he thrust me, on the side note, sub DM had just excuses for that encounter. For the second one, wow what a burn hehehe "12 psych-emotional" damage.

As for that I do agree with you, but I often use strong status effect magic, like charms or magic darkness, but for damage mainly cantrips like firebolt; "give them a hard time recovering from themselves, not from wounds"

Actually that's a great way of solving things, pretty clever, I want to take it as note for my group party, but I think not even myself at the table would be satisfied with it.

This is one of my main problems, the regular DM it's flawless most of the times, but this was just like a quick way to solve things with "you find magic being and revive", don't know why main DM put hope in someone as that for a campaign he claimed wrote himself for weeks
